2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I’ve seen multiple highlights of how Zellers can throw off a goaltender in close. Has a really good shot, but also really good hands to score in close. -

They’re not going to find that in 1 player. This is going to be a tough, deep team, not a high scoring skilled team. I would be shocked if they have a 20 goal scorer next year. -
Those guys aren’t CHLers though. Michael Misa, Matthew Schaefer, Porter Martone, Caleb Desnoyers etc are unlikely to play college next year. But if this rule had gone in effect for this past season, I’d imagine they would’ve considered playing college the year before their draft. It doesn’t matter when their birthday is, it’s about playing college before they are drafted.

Yes. I’m saying the top picks will not come to college after their draft year. They are likely to come before and play a year before the draft.

@RhettRingers mentioned he may be in the ineligible boat the other day -
This better not be for an auto bid. That’s a joke if it is.

I think the top picks are likely to do more what Celebrini did and what McKenna is rumored to do. Graduate high school early and play college before your draft year.

Yep. They’ll be in their ear for the entire process. Ultimately the player makes the final call, but if someone is telling you what’s best for you that you trust the whole way, you’ll probably have that as a heavy factor. -

Swanson is a pass first, undersized forward. He was destined to have a rough freshman year. -

Zellers is a more versatile goal scorer than Boisvert IMO. I think he gets 15 goals pretty easily. Wouldn’t be surprised if he has a Blake like freshman year. -

If you read Schlossman’s article, some of them are not going to be eligible for NCAA play because of high school classes. Others are driven by agents who are gearing them towards top dollar deals. It’s not as easy as just showing a top 15 CHLer the Ralph and Dane Jackson’s vision and expecting them to commit. There are probably over 25 factors or more in every recruiting battle. -
Don’t think Anthony Menghini is going to be an extra.

Sensitive much?

Ain’t nothing a lawsuit can’t fix

No one reliable has actually said that UND was a finalist. They just said that they would be highly interested.
-
Yes. Because that was a serious comment and not me making fun of you for nerding out on how the law of NIL works.
-
Not being an asshole, it’s just been said by every news outlet, schlossman, and this board 1000x’s
-
Pay attention to the news and you’d know why.
-
I think you’re confused bud
-
McKenna already fell through dude. He’s going to Michigan.

No one cares about bowling green

That’s not what he was talking about. There is a certain academic path (courses) you have to take and it matters when you take them to be NCAA eligible. A lot of guys weren’t planning on going NCAA route so they didn’t care about this. Sure, some guys have bad grades but that’s not the point here.
-
Also, I am guessing that the coaching staff doesn’t want 6 freshman coming in when they are trying to balance classes. A depth senior or junior and 1 more freshman make sense for that plan. We shall see how they play it out though.
-
Seems unlikely they add a 1st round talent from the CHL at this point

Former Minnesota-Duluth and Niagara forward Kyler Kleven has entered the portal. Moorhead native, really good friends with Anthony Menghini… Could be a solid depth addition, but we’ll see where it goes. Played for Waterloo when Chyzyk was in his first year with the Blackhawks.
