More I think about this, I don’t think he comes early as a dman if he’s coming to UND. Jake Sanderson played 2 years of college. Even if he’s a top 5 pick, I don’t think he jumps to the NHL right away.

Simpson isn’t coming next year. Schultz is really the only option. I’m guessing they nag a WHL guy who is a mid round pick (2nd-4th) and a depth older transfer. Maybe they nab a guy from a USports school that has a year or 2 left? I’m guessing Komzak withdraws from the portal and they add a 1 year depth D for insurance.

For 2025-26 they aren’t going to get the top CHL guys. In the future, they will be very much in the discussion for a large group of those guys
