To be Frank, Jerry has been playing like dog sheet for like 5 weeks straight now. He went from 22TDs and 2INTs in his first 8, to 4TDs and 8INTs in the past 5. That is a brutal swing for the worse, and I didn't foresee it magically swinging back again anytime soon anyways, so this change is actually welcomed IMO. I see the silver lining --- having a fresh guy, motivated by a 2nd chance in his final season, who has tons of experience running the offense as a decent upgrade right at this moment despite clearly being a downgrade in general as an overall QB. Maybe Jerry has already been playing hurt? Hurt something in the USD game? Seems like the only reasonable explanation, but unfortunately we have often seen studs at UND regress as the season goes on and as their careers go on...both miserable trends to notice. But maybe it was an injury he's been playing through in this case. More importantly about this QB change, during the 360 interview, the OC did mention both QBs have their own mix of favorite plays, which is going to push the OC to mix things up a bit now with Romfo at the helm. And we all know a play calling shake up is long overdue so I think that is the biggest plus here if Romfo plays. Additionally, it seemed very clear that other teams have figured out UND's offense, and it was finally showing up on the scoreboard. New QB (even as a downgrade), new plays, hopefully new life and new burst of offense when it matters most. Additionally it appears Tar State's D kind of sucks, so I have hope the O can punch several through, and the D can do their thing.

UND has every reason to win this game. But until both the coaches and players start showing some killer instincts I’m worried they’ll allow it to be a close game…and we all know how UND handles close games…

Holy crap did Tech ever have a patty cake schedule outside of worse than normal Kentucky team who steam rolled them. Long road trip for UND, and despite the easy schedule Tech still won all the FCS games so they're no sluff team but UND will win this one.

I hate to be that guy complaining about play calling on O, but man alive, these past 4-5 games, especially this latest one were all absolutely atrocious...like parody laughable. I legitimately dont think I could have done a better job at being bad if I was trying at least in the SDSU game. 1st and goal calls 4th down calls Predictable patterns of the same play calls especially when UND loses momentum. Avoiding the calls that are working, and overloading on calls that are clearly not working. Has this been strange and frustrating to anyone else? It's one thing when things just arent going well and it is easy just to blame the play calling but this isnt what I'm talking about. Out of touch timing, out of place shots, poor clock management, and low energy low confidence calls that were there the entire first half of the year. Never trying similar plays to what clearly was working...Did the OC have a stroke last saturday or what is going on?

Who will be the top forwards in the state this year? Does Minot return any of their top line? Delziel at GFC, Marto GFC. Stromme from DL went neck and neck with Marto on team ND all spring so I’m guessing he’ll have 50+ points. Quite a few WF kids with potential for 40+ seasons too. Bismarck lost all of their top dawgs I believe but they’ll probably reload with a few studs.

Say UND loses this game in a last second barn burner thanks to Mason playing, which turns them into a different team....would UND actually get shafted from a playoff spot?! Seeing their ranking, and their losses, I just totally assumed they were in no matter what at this point. But then again the committee tends to torch UND any chance they get.

Did I expect Schmidt to turn things around with only a spring camp and fall camp? No Did I expect we’d at least get the most out of the roster that he inherited and finally get rid of the numerous pee wee football level coaching mistakes? Yes Unfortunately it’s pretty clear the same loser culture is still lingering if not fully alive within the UND football program. I’ll continue to watch and follow as this season goes on but man did I lose confidence in this turnaround seeing the same old short falls we’re all too familiar with. And scary enough, I think what we saw yesterday was just as bad if not worse than the entire bubba era, with Rudy OC in a close 2nd. Bone head player mistakes are one thing but not recognizing the kicker issue last spring, not having even an ounce of 2 min drill abilities in 2/3 games already and the offense play calling is absurdly poor and embarrassing. That’s on the coaches. They’re showing so far they’re just trying not to lose still, and it’s backfiring as usual.

The problem is he clearly had thr better players and every reason to win that game but play calling and coaching was the difference when it mattered even despite the bad calls they got.

Danny’s team is getting pumped by 60 by north Texas too. His O didn’t get get a TD until garbage time. UND football just breeds losers

It’s been over since late in the 2nd quarter I think. Unbelievable how the culture sticks around

Win or lose I’m far was optimistic after this game. plus the griz are clearly not great and will likely be a bubble team
