I disagree. Some people say Finley is doing good for a big defensemen, and that may be true, but he hasn't really impressed me yet. I would rather have Spirko out there catalyzing the offense then having Finley on the D line. From what I have seen of Finley, he has no speed, doesn't react fast, takes bad penalties, doesn't always show the best judgement (compared to other frosh even), offers nothing offensively, isn't the most accurate passer....ok I'm probably being harsh but I really just like Spirko out on the ice more than Finley even if it means alexander rather then miller... anyways we can do nothing now but see how it plays out

Remember, lots of these guys haven't played at all - or with the level of competition that they deserve to play with - because of the NHL lockout. Obviously there are other factors, but thats what I would point to first. And its hard to be mad at a guy for spending time with his family and relaxing instead of going over to Europe or something to keep in shape. You are right, the US should beat Ukraine. But we didn't and I would tend to give huge props to them for the tie than being mad at our guys. Seriously, we did outshoot them like 39-9 or something so its not like they got outplayed...the Ukraine goalie must have just been tremendous and their D prolly did well limiting the real quality chances so

I didn't start watching the game until the 3rd period, but ZPar got his first point in his first game here - got a long pass to Gionta who made just a sick shot off a tricky angle. Parise's representin US wins 5-1 is the final. Congrats to the boys

This is my team, and I am sure my team appreciates the people who know how to go a little nuts at a game more than the people who just show up because the Ralph is "the cool place to be" even if those other people are 1000x richer than I will ever be and give the school lots of money.

Amen. I have often wondered what it is that happens to our alumni that makes them get so frustrated with us students today. Have they always been this way - as students would they just not go to games since they would be offended by fellow students? Or do you really change that much as you get older? Seriously, I have run into some amazingly ornery adults at the games - like I have been yelled at by old guys with grey hair several times this year, and I don't consider myself a crazy troublemaker either! My main issue is this: WHY DO YOU COME TO THE HOCKEY GAME IF YOU DON"T LIKE THE ATMOSPHERE? Seriously, if you just want to watch a game, watch it on TV. You get more angles, replays, and commentary. If you want to CHEER then go to the game itself. This seems intuitive to me, but some older folks seriously don't get it. Instead they would rather come to the game - a COLLEGE game - and try institute their own set of rules upon US students! Thats messed up. Especially since we haven't needed these rules in the past. Kupchella needs to grow a pair and be reasonable about this.
