  1. just out here lying?
  2. Garret Anderson played at San Jose St before going D2 so he has D1 experience. 30k for Deng seems high to me but good for him for getting some cash
  3. NIL only impacts UND, no other small schools are dealing with small NIL budgets. Can keep using it as an excuse or can go do something about it. How often have you seen UND MBB post about NIL fundraising? Have to go find the players who want to prove themselves rather than make a little more NIL to sit on the bench and not play
  4. Co St was the first game of the year, Norte Dame it was never really out of hand till the end of the game, Bethune & Louisiana you dont put the bench squad in when its not out of hand yet. Conference games none of it matters. The NBA has the best players in the world, the dropoff from the starters to bench players is a low different than it was for UND. Its also college athletics you cant play every single person on the roster especially when you’re a middle of the pack low major team. Clearly from what Sather saw they weren’t ready to play and thats fine. They were RS freshman not RS seniors or juniors, they will definitely get opportunities this year in practice and games to prove themselves.
  5. Just to note UND played 10 players 10+ minutes last year as well.
  6. Im looking at the results from last year and Im not seeing all these lopsided loses to but the end if bench players in. Yes a couple 20 points games they could’ve came in at. But clearly games are different then practice so you need the guys who will be playing minutes on the court to build chemistry together. Off the court stuff and practice is great for culture but that isn’t play in a game together where you can control what is happening like practice and have actual stakes on the line. Most of what your saying works great for a high school team but this is college basketball and if we want to build that competitive culture seems like we need to do a better job of recruiting guys who are D1 players then and can push the first 8. I do think that would help push those top players but last year just didnt have the bench to do that and will always be tough to have a deep bench in the Summit. Sather should be coaching for his job (probably has a secret extension we dont know about) and this forum would have been at his throat even more if he did that. Still curious though where those minutes would come from
  7. They committed early in the AAU season before their senior year so I imagine they would have got some more offers if they waited till right before the school year to commit. And what games would they have played in besides the Dickinson st game to start the year? There wasn’t many games were you could play the bench and give guys a chance where it makes sense especially when you are trying to build chemistry with all the new transfers. Who’s minutes last year would you take away to give to the redshirt squad?
  8. And if both Curtis aren’t in the rotation next year I would imagine they are playing somewhere else their sophomore year
  9. And they would not be favorited to win the NSIC
  10. Dont forget about Doppler as our 6th man
  11. Mier to the Big East
  12. I like this get! Some much need shooting added to the team.
  13. Smith over Kraft or Reggie? Kraft starts it puts King at the one which isn’t ideal but is probably our best option
  14. Deng stays in the Summit
  15. Eaglestaff decommits this morning
  16. Miller commits elsewhere
  17. Correction, UND can go over the roster limit since they opted out of the full roster scholarships for all sports. So they can offer 13 scholarships then go over the 15 roster limit but i’m not sure what new roster limit would be
  18. The roster limit is still 15 though, so even if someone is a PWO that still counts as a spot. So they don’t have 5 spots available
  19. Of those 7 spots 5 are already filled with Wylee, Smith, Curtis twins, and Ouse. So only 2 spots available, and yes they can offer 15 scholarships now but I believe UND said there aren’t going to do that and will still have PWOs. I know people have already mentioned that Wylee may be a PWO and that Ouse is a PWO. Hopefully Im correct with all that
  20. I dont even want to make a starting 5 with this lineup
  21. I know its been said before but this is a problem every single program in the country is dealing with this. Its the coaches job to figure out a way to be successful. No one is saying it is an easy job but we need to stop making excuses and lowering the standards
