  1. I have a lot of respect for Coach Hedberg, but this is a game that UND absolutely needs to win. They have much more talent than SCSU, and really they should be up by a couple of touchdowns at the half. Hopefully no one is looking by this game on to next week in Vermillion, but I'm sure Lennon won't let that happen. Tomorrow night in Omaha we have a HUGE game between South Dakota and Omaha. If South Dakota loses you can basically stick a fork in their season. They have a ton to gain by winning the game. If they upset the Mavs that makes the last two games all the more important for UND.

    UND vs. UMD

Big win for the Sioux today. If they win next week at home against SCSU it basically assures them of a playoff spot. They win out and there is an outside shot that they could possibly finish in the top two if one of those teams stumbles. One game at a time for the boys, well done guys!
  3. Ohh Radke....He's just a tough nosed Canadian hockey player. I read somewhere once...Radke is Canada! I think UND needed a loss. Lots of articles about them in the papers, and this will knock them off the pedestal a little bit. I really don't think they played that well this game, and still had a chance to win, which is a little bit reassuring. The last five minutes it sounded like they turned it on and finally put some pressure on the Tech trap and got some pucks to the net. Lamoureax gave up a goal...albeit two! SIEVE!! So when does the first person come out calling for Hak's job?

    UND vs. UMD

Much like the Mankato game this game has me worried. The UMD QB is a pretty good athlete, and although UND got to him last year and has had success against him he'll be playing on his home field and we all know how that went for UND's defense against Western Washington and Mankato. The key to this one is ball control. Long sustained drives with Chappel and company taking a lot of time off the clock would be my idea of how to win this game, but then again with guys like Dressler and Chappel UND can score from anyspot on the field...at any time... I'll say UND 42 UMD 38 High scoring affair.
  5. I'd also like to offer congrats to NDSU for the win. Like PCM said the score didn't reflect the game last year and this year was a little bit of redemption for them. The Bison proved that they are a much better football team than Minnesota, who is hands down one of the worst DI teams in the land. The gophers should be 0-8 as they should have lost that OT game to Miami of Ohio or whoever it was they beat in OT. Tim Brewster might as well be a used car salesman. I don't think he'll win any recruiting battles after this one. Congrats again to NDSU, although you guys should have won by three touchdowns...

    UNO at UND

I have to agree with leaving Stroup out of the game if he isn't healthy. Win or lose they still have a good chance to make the postseason, and having him for the stretch run is important. That and the bye next week will help this very much banged up football team. A win going into the break would probably help them heal a tiny bit..... I can't wait for this game, it should be a classic! UND 31 Omaha 30

    UNO at UND

Me and my buddies (7 total) have got our seats for the game! We all graduated only about a year ago so we're thinking we'll want to relive old times and sit in the student section for the game. Hopefully its packed and hopping for the game. They need to make it as tough on the Mavs as possible.

    LAMMY

Phil will be fine. Now this Jean-Phillipe character.... This game kind of reminded me of a UND scrimmage a couple of years ago I went to. Jordan Parise absolutely got torn apart (gave up like four goals) and looked horrible his entire time in the net. Everyone at the scrimmage was worried about how poorly he played and how UND should think about going with Phil to start the season. Parise's first start that year he gets like a 35 save shutout and looks awesome. Moral of the story....Phil will be fine.

    UNO at UND

I'm really looking forward to this game. They're always great games to watch, and its usually the team that gets the bounce one way or another that ends up with the win. Unfortunately for the Sioux the Mavs have gotten more of the bounces the past couple of years in the rivalry, but UND did have a big win in the playoffs last season against the Mavs. No predictions quite yet. We'll see about the health of Stroup, and Chappell for Saturday. Gosh it should be an amazing football game. The number one factor in the game will be how well UND's defense can play with a loud Alerus center crowd behind them. The 12th man will be huge.
  10. I think the main thing that this game does is gives UND a huge shift in momentum going into next weekends tough tough matchup against UNO. If UND lost this game they still would play the Mavs tough next weekend, but I don't think there would be the same fire. I can't wait to be at next weekends game! Injuries: Brett Bauer hurt his ankle Chappel has a bruised back, but was able to play through it. I love Grand Forks Central running backs.
  11. The game isn't over yet! Mankato has all of their timeouts left. 1st down goes for one yard. 2nd down goes for 9 I think? I'm not sure what Hammer said there. 3rd and 1........BALL GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sioux will win......aghh....what a game......
  12. 1:39 left in the game
  13. 2nd and 26..........PICKED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. 5 Defensive backs and.............SACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. 38-34 Sioux.......81 Yard touchdown, 3 Minutes to go Here we go: 1st down: Four Yard Gain 2nd down: Down to UND's 37 Yard line......crap......
  16. WHAT A PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY MOLY!!!!!!!!!! Lots of time for the defense to blow it though........ 81 Yards.....
  17. Okay here we go........BOO YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Wow......UND's defense needs to make a play for the first time this season. 34-31......get the ball back to the offense for cripes sake. I don't doubt the talent that this King guy has, but UND's defense is making this guy into an All-American... 2nd and 7..........False Start.....wow they actually call it this time....huh 2nd and 12.............to the UND 45....... 3rd and 4...............COME ON......COME ON.............Movement......... Wow, they called it again on the offense...... 3rd and 9.............MAKE A PLAY DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. This is exactly why I was worried about this game. UND down 20-17 at the half and its been largely because of our defense getting beaten by the pass. Mankato has dropped a couple of them as well, so the Sioux can consider themselves pretty lucky that they aren't down by more. I know that they've had a lot of 5 reciever sets, but it might be time to throw in a blitz or stunt a little bit more to get some pressure on the QB. Its not gonna be easy in the second half with the way the momentum has turned time and again. Hopefully the defensive coaches are able to switch it up a little bit. UND gets the ball coming out of the half. Got to get at least a field goal out of it.
  20. This game scares the heck out of me. UND hasn't fared well against teams that pass the football well. Facing an experienced guy, at their homecoming game, and playing a team without a lot to lose will be a challenge. I have all the faith in the world in coach Lennon not letting the guys look forward to next week, but thats an issue as well. Get through this week please.... I'll say: UND 42 Mankato 31
  21. I'm not a resident of Fargo, but how is Fargo South overrated in football? They haven't lost a game in over a year, and no one has gotten within 14 points of them in that time span. In hockey last season and the year before they finished first and second, and they've also had quite successful boys soccer teams. I wouldn't call them overrated in anything.

They're probably tearing some paint off the wall. More adversity for the Sioux. Lets see how they handle it!

21-21 at the Half. As the old saying goes. Its 0-0 boys!!!

Have the Sioux blitzed at all this game? Way too much time for the QB to throw.

Well, time for the defense to make a play. Our young linebacking corps is being challenged.
