  1. Lots of great memories against the Badgers. One of my favorite all time UND-Bucky games happened at the Final Five a few years back. Wisconsin had dominated UND that year at the Ralph, and they went on to win the national championship when it was all said and done. Bucky went ahead quickly 2-0 in the first period and everyone was talking about who UND was going to play in the third place game. UND got two late first period goals and got two in the second and completely in the head of one Robert Earl, who was flagged for unsportsmanlike diving that game. UND won 4-3, won the final five the next night. But tremendous win for UND that day.
  2. I'm glaring at the Minnesota Wild if they indeed tried to get Oloffson, or however you spell it, to head to the WHL half way through the season. I'm glad he decided not to pull an Okposo/Tambo, and stick it out with his teammates.
  3. Not to take away from the ladies with football talk, but going FBS in football......ohh God......Bubba would have his work cut out for him....to say the least.
  4. I've been told that young ladies in spandex do a better job of cleaning the ice during TV timeouts......just saying.... I got a game puck, and gave it to my two year old when I got home. He's now sleeping with the puck....
  5. Well....yeah... I dunno. Just having zero chance of winning a national championship ever again. I love the national spotlight. Great job ladies. But we're never going to out recruit Connecticut, Tennessee, Duke, etc. Maybe I'll feel different if they upset a team down the road. Once again, tremendous job ladies. Represented the university very well. Great job coach Brewster!
  6. This would have ended the crap that Western was pulling in the third period too. Some major attempts at runs at UND guys. Really only one that connected was the hit on Drake. In front of us a guy darn near got a good knee on knee hit on Rocco. Have Pattyn skate by their bench, challenge a guy, and settle it that way.
  7. Nice job ladies. Played them tough for the first half, but then of course the deeper team takes control of the game. I'll be hated for this, but I'm not going to enjoy maybe winning the conference tournament only to get killed in the tournament every time they make it. Take no credit away from these ladies. Great great job!
  8. Going out on a small limb. No way does the ECAC Go back to back.
  9. Can't wait. Might be the best weekend of the year. Minus the two hours of gut wrench when the Sioux play.
  10. Has Barry Melrose hailed Ben Scrivens yet?
  11. Wake up this morning and my favorite group of hockey players have life. Similar situation to Yale. They ran the gauntlet last year playing on borrowed time. 23 wins doesn't buy you much this day in college hockey. But boy am happy the chips fell where they did.
  12. Would not be surprised to see Miami lose a few of their studs after tonight's result. My guess is Coleman, and Czarnik for sure. Riley Barber a possibility as well.
  13. He didn't open up about his traveling with the team stories until a few years ago. He told me that story a few years back with a lot more profanity involved from all the people involved. I'm surprised he talked about Uber Jorkmanbā€¦ā€¦We don't talk about himā€¦.
  14. That NCHC title game was a snooze fest in the first periodā€¦ā€¦we all looked at each other and no one needed to say anything. Plus we were all wasting phone batteries hoping Ohio State would put their nonsense to a rest. I just followed hockey east and big ten games. My heart/gallbladder can't handle four games at once.
  15. Great time again. Mafia does a tremendous, tremendous job with everything. I enjoy hearing about everyone's love of fighting sioux hockey. It just becomes a way of life. Its not a question of if we'll follow the group around every year, its when we follow them around in March. After what has been a tough few weeks for myself and some of those close to me, it was nice to get away from it all for a while and enjoy the company of some good people. Looking forward to next year already. Can't wait.
  16. Not gonna lieā€¦..left the NCHC championship game after the first period. Walked over to Kieran's or whatever its called and watched the rest of the Big Ten hockey championship game. I think as many have already said, boy were we big time Wisconsin fans. Funny that they'll likely play each other next weekend to open up the NCAA tournament. You've got to beat everybody. I can't say who I'd rather see UND play. PS: Was sitting at Hubert's and saw Rocco sitting with his family eating before we went over to the pub. Funny how my group of Sioux diehards were sitting on pins and needles, and he could have really cared less. Almost like he kind of knew it was going to be alright. Took time to shake my hand and say hi, nice nice guy
  17. Sioux played inconsistent like they have all year long. I've thrown them under the bus before, but I won't again. They are what they are. Not a ton of top end talent, and just an average hockey team overall. I'll show up tomorrow and cheer my @ss off for them. And the next game, and the game after that. Its been kind of a week month personally for me. Former student I taught took his own life, and my best friend in the whole wide world is dealing with cancer with multiple members of his family. Little things like college hockey keep me upbeat. And win or lose, Sioux hockey is a great release from the things that truly matter in life.
  18. Was actually a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Deano for trying to cheat his line changes. He had been warned earlier, but kept doing it. When told he got a penalty for that he told the reff he wasn't sending a player over to the box, which got him tossed.
  19. Congrats on the new arrival Mafia!!!!!! I'd hope you would post a picture for all to see!
  20. I like the physical edge that Ausmus brings, but Thompson wins my vote because he adds offense to a team that struggles to score at times. If they could clone Stecher I'd be okay with that option too.
  21. They may need to consider hosting the tournament at the top seed's venue. I mean how close were they this year to CC, Western, Miami, and Denver? Just a thought. UMD, Duluth, SCSU, UND make it and attendance isn't an issue.
  22. Last time the Sioux played Miami it was pretty simple. Chip it out against their top guys, and then attack their defensemen with multiple bodies around the net. Not sure you can just chip and chase now that they have Coleman back and their top six forwards are pretty good, but I think that a lesson that can be learned from Miami beating SCSU is gap control defensively. SCSU gave some of those forwards way too much space and they paid for it. Miami is still horrible in their own end. They overcommit a lot, and Czarnik almost cost his team dearly against SCSU when he let a guy behind him for that goal with .1 left on the clock. When I was at the UND-Miami series I've never seen a goaltender yell at his defensemen so much, and for good reason. McKay almost killed one of them one time, but he was saved by his defensive partner.
  23. Roll Tribe! PS: And I should have said what happened at the end of the season the last time the Sioux played at the Target Center.
