  1. Yes, body checking is illegal-anywhere on the ice. I haven't seen the ad......they do allow incidental contact. I was just wondering if it would have been incidental, but it probably wasn't, eh. They do let a lot of things go in women's hockey and there are actually a lot of hits that aren't called. It's not as boring as people may think. I think a lot of people hear that checking isn't allowed and they are automatically turned off. That said, I still think that they need to allow checking at the International and college level. Girls can take hits. Especially hockey players.
  2. Where was it? Open ice or near the boards? Just watched the US beat Finland. Finland was up 2-3 at the beginning of the 3rd. The US won 7-3.
  3. That thing's a piece of CRAP!
  4. All banned.
  5. [sarcasm] Isn't the south part of Jesusland? That said, there are no gays in the south. [/sarcasm]
  6. Not what I intended when I typed that. She just decorated it herself with a plethora of women's hockey pictures.....she cut them out and taped them on the wall herself....so it looks really nice. She's very proud of it.
  7. I think the avatar has me beat on that one. You should see her room.
  8. Congrats ladies! Huge win, and yes, the best win in the history of the team. Kudos on the props during the Olympics too. A little confidence can go a long ways.....use it.
  9. Title 9 wouldn't have had to happen if things were fair to begin with. I would have loved if that's the way that it was, but obviously that's not what was happening. And yes, it does suck for programs that people were part of, like wrestling at UND. But like I said, if things were fair to begin with, would Title 9 be an issue? No. And, if men's lacrosse was added at UND, another men's sport would lose out. The unfair thing about Title 9 is that it's tough to match the number of athletes when one of the men's sports is football. I'm babbling, gotta take the kiddies to hockey practice.
  10. I think I could get into lacrosse pretty quick. I've watched it on TV, with similarities to soccer and hockey it's a pretty easy sport to figure out.
  11. They're having a great season, it really wouldn't shock me.........
  12. So are you saying that Title 9 is a waste?
  13. Lose to Mayville State this weekend. *runs away*
  14. Thanks, JFR. North Dakota people rule.
  15. Congrats on the 3-0 win, ladies. Hasbargan had 28 saves on the day. Get the sweep tomorrow!
  16. Hopefully the women can get at least one win this weekend against the Mavs....
  17. Well said.
  18. I have noticed that, maybe they just have a problem with sports in general and need something to complain about it.
  19. I enjoyed the pic.
  20. Do you think if Matt Greene were on the ice last weekend, Mankato would have fought like that?
  21. Sioux swept by St. Cloud. So what happens now?
  22. Nice argument, shortbusguy. There's a whole 'nother forum for that.
  23. Yeah, things like letters people write to the NCAA.......about pins and such.
  24. Yeah.... that is EXACTLY my point. Thank you for proving it. *golf claps* As for massage "parlors" had you done any research at all you would also know that when they began in the United States, they also had "more on the menu" but you are not "true massage" so you do not know this, the massage industry will not let someone else's opinion of it keep it down, and you don't know anything about the history or the culture, you're just a wannabe. Oh Oh oh oh oh OH! Wait. You made a GREAT point GK. See, the massage industry has taken a negative stereotype of itself- what people used to think that massage was-and learned that it shouldn't let that negative stereotype keep it down, or keep it from succeeding, because it really is a much needed asset to people......maybe you should take some lessons from the massage industry. I mean, really, have you ever heard a massage therapist carry on the way that you do because we feel that we are negatively stereotyped?
  25. You made me laugh so hard I spit water everywhere when I read that.
