Checking in...any score yet for MN v. Cornell?
-
My dish guide has the game on channel 410 Altitude Sports Net. You have to have the sports channel subscription (about $5 a month) to get that. If you don't have that try Alternate Channel 446 which also has the game on the guide and you don't need the sports channel subscriptions. Enjoy...

Boy am I sure glad I put in for tickets last year! I'll be there! GO SIOUX!
-
As James T. Kirk once said, "we need more power!" Well, I guess I'll just have to play a board game with my kids and, gosh forbid, spend quality time with my family!
-
Fingers crossed for great reception ala last game!

Crystal clear in Ohio today with my Fortec Ultra receiver and original UND Shop 85 cm dish. Hopefully, the rest of the year is smooth sailing! oh, and....GO SIOUX!

Holy Smokes, Something is different tonight as I am getting a pretty good signal. Hadn't even bothered looking until now in light of last night's dismal reception (or lack thereof). This is the season of miracles...

Yes, I think that the satellite company doesn't offer much flexibility. I do believe that the Ralph wants us to be able to receive the broadcasts. So I don't want to come off as a big critic of the Ralph. In fact, they have been very accomodating in answering questions and taking the time to communicate. The answers may not always be what I want to hear...but so it goes....
-
PSB, I know YOU are a satellite expert, so this guy must be an expert's expert! Anyway, come to think of it, I hardly pull anything up on the Vertical scan. The blind scan picked up a couple of hit on vertical, but they were too weak to set a channel - i.e. - "no channel." If this is true, we need to lobby the Ralph to at least test this theory by sending out a test signal or changing frequency for a game or weekend. I've asked Jamie for this before, but to no avail.

Thanks for the emails regarding the LACK of ability to get the broadcast. In just a few hours I tallied up 5 guys including me without reception. Includes people in New York, Iowa, Ohio and North Dakota. If you haven't done so already, send me an email at my shell email address of toledolawyer@aol.com if you aren't able to get any reception of the games. I'll keep posting the tally on the forum so we all get a sense of how many of us are affected. (would be interesting to know the dollar amount of useless satellite hardware!). The purpose of the tally for me is to get some comfort that my receiver and dish aren't the cause of my poor reception, and to perhaps SOLVE this problem so we can enjoy the best college hockey in the country! GO SIOUX!

Sweet! I think I'll have that drink now...

Checking in, what's the score?
-
All I can say is I am glad I'm not the only guy with a dish not getting reception. Don't feel as lonely. Frankly, the BIG difference between this year and last year has to be the change in frequency. It was clear and strong last year, but this year it's sh**! Very disappointing.... Can we get a count of how many of us are not getting an acceptable signal? send me an email to my shell email address and I'll count them up and post the results. email is toledolawyer@aol.com.

Let me add my two cents. I don't recommend buying the system off the Siouxshop. It's overpriced by far and there is nothing special about it relating to the University. Plus, I'm on my second receiver, since the first one died on me. I suggest you talk to PSB about what to buy or at least buy the same setup directly from a retailer to save a bunch of money...

I've talked to Jamie at the Ralph about using more power in transmitting, but he has steadfastly stated that he is already using more power than last year. Consequently, I don't think he was using more power to get the signal to Michigan last weekend. In fact, the signal strength on my receiver in Ohio was the same as prior weekends until I tweaked my dish during the Saturday football broadcast. Clearly, the difference in reception this year has to be from the transmission side or the relay at the satellite company. Jamie at Ralph says they are assigned the satellite frequency by the satellite company at the beginning of the season and this is beyond UND's control. Thus, the poor quality could be coming from the satellite relay. Go Sioux!

Agree, color guy was interesting!

Just checking in. Could someone post the score and time left? Thanks.

Parise solid in goal. ND needs a lot more effort tomorrow night. Until then...
-
Parise is the only guy playing so far in OT..

Interesting and common when opponents score or (Heaven forbid) win a game against the Sioux - They react as if they just won the Stanley Cup. Minnesota has the worst case of this...i.e. - Frank Mozzako (sp?) Just have to take it as a compliment...
