The problem is when it's presented via trojan horse. If someone calls me into their home to install a new furnace, their expectation is that.....I will install a new furnace for them. If instead I come into their house and spend the entire install time making political statements, should they have expected that? No. The only reason they wanted my services is for a furnace, not for political lecturing.
People go to hockey games to escape, not to have political statements thrown at them.
Exactly. These kids can have their story told by Schloss all they want. Do the social justice thing on their own time, own dime as much as they want. Once they start using a platform they received on the donations/contributions of others, I draw the line. Keep it off the ice, off the field, and do whatever you want. That's what these athletes don't understand.

Losing all the sports teams I’m used to following. Stopped following pro sports, now check the hockey team off my list. Down to Basketball, vb and football. Sad that people feel this is the best way to make a statement.

Presumed President Elect and self proclaimed, “devout Catholic,” Joe Biden quotes the book of “Palms” during his Thanksgiving message.

Looks like the women have added a home game for this Sunday against Marquette. Doesn't say anything about fan being allowed or not.

Walked out of the store this morning when it was 6 degrees here in beautiful western NoDak and the exhaust was pouring out of people's masks walking to their vehicles from the store, mine too. Maybe we were wearing them the wrong way, but not sure that they were very effective.
All the workers in my grandmother's nursing home are required to wear gloves and masks 100 percent of the time, and some even mask up and use the plastic shield.
So....how in the hell did she get Covid?
Any Compassionate care visits by family?

https://www.three-man-weave.com/3mw/summit-basketball-preview-2021 Nice write up on the Summit. I think they may have UND’s starters off but still good to read.
Little surprised that Ihenacho is listed in the newcomers section. Excited to have him. but he may need a year or two. I feel/hope Nero has bigger, more immediate impact on the team.

The implication that has been raised here before and now is that ND looks bad because of increased testing. And that is absolutely not the case. The positivity rate, hospitalization numbers and death count all align to being the worst in the nation. So, why is ND the worst state for COVID since the original peak in March? What is it that makes ND “special”?
How many are symptomatic? Are other states catching the asymptomatic cases? The more you test, the more asymptomatic cases you will catch.

He sent out a press release that effectively says that absentee voting is unconstitutional. He’s a con-man. This is what he does.
Absentee ballot voting or mail-in voting? Big difference between the two.

Concerning to me, even more so, is the apparent lack of transparency. If GOP observers were intentionally being kept from doing their job of observing, it gives the message that something fraudulent might be going on, even if there was no fraud involved.

and yet, almost zero flu cases...weird
Minnesota cases have been rising as of late and have a pretty high positivity rate. Perhaps they should institute a mask mandate...oh wait they've had one in place since July.

I mean, they do still keep trotting Tucker Carlson (among other out). They are still well right of center, though not as fringe as MSNBC.
I actually continously flipped through coverage on all 3 channels Tuesday night to get different viewpoints. Other than a few talking head bozos on MSNBC that I'm not sure how they are employed, overall it was pretty good. Fox News definitely still had their bias, which I have no objection to and I thought their coverage was easily the best of the 3.
True. Also hard to get rid of Tucker with the size of audience he brings in, being the highest rated primetime cable news show.

Yet FoxNews is reporting the exact same things as the other networks (and were even the first to call AZ for Biden). So how exactly does that theory pencil out?
FOX has not been the same since Disney bought them out. Not as bad as MSNBC or CNN but definitely not the FOX of old. Especially since Paul Ryan got on the board.

We did get the hundreds of thousands dying, there were rumors floating that millions could die. So, there's that.
No way we would of needed a year lock down.
I'm a believer in giving the people the truth, we're a democracy.
I believe in transparency also. When it comes to the Presidency and the safety of the nation, I believe the President has some discretion to use. He can't go around "yelling fire in the theatre" based on every threat the country faces. No President has ever done that and no President ever will.

Check back in Feb, by then nearly all will realize this is no sniffle - the economy and stock market will be beat to $h1t. Maybe people will want answers instead of fighting amongst each other. Will everyone eventually be washing their hands, etc?
A sniffle doesn't ruin an economy. Riots get turbo charged.
T lied about the severity of Covid right from the get go, what (maybe even who) else is in this coverup? Will this coverup be passed onto Biden, if he wins?
If this gets you too fired up, read it as purple.I've never understood this argument about Trump lying about the severity of the virus. Do you remember how people freaked out and bought all of the toilet paper due to fear of the virus, even after Trump supposedly downplayed it's severity? Imagine the panic if he came out and said we will need to lock down for a year, hundreds of thousands are going to die, etc, etc. There's threats to our country all the time, most of them we never even know about. Why is that? Because half the country would be hiding in their basement, afraid to come out in public, if they really knew all the threats out there. Fortunately we are able to mitigate the majority of those, thus, no need to "panic the public."

the st johns block "project" is four years in the making....
Sounds like a different project.
The project at the university isn’t in a city “Ren Zone,” and an earlier developer already used that tax incentive at St. John’s Block, which leaves only the Townhouse project with the Renaissance Zone option.

An article with some details of a couple projects mentioned earlier in this thread. As well as some Info on a proposal for the St. John’s building.

Later moved to Hwy#2 accross from the GF County Fairgrounds entrance, were Hal eventually took over from hid dad in 1977.this pic from Happy Harry's web sight corner of 5th and Demers.
New Steak house/restaurant in back ground covered in poly. On original site of Happy HarrysHas anyone seen a rendering of the new restaurant? Curious what all the work on the roof is for? If I had to guess, I would say they are raising the ceiling vs building a patio, but it's tough to know for sure.
UND hockey team anthem kneeling
in Men's Hockey
Posted
I never liked the home of the Sioux during the anthem and never participated. The difference here is the fans are paying customers who spend their money and have freedom of speech. These athletic programs are being supported by these fans through donations and contributions. Monetarily, the athletes are not invested. Other than the non-scholly players. Can the kids kneel for the anthem. Sure. Will it upset a portion of the fanbase, absolutely. Will it affect the bottom line of UND athletics, I’m guessing it will. Will the AD/coaches support the “biting the hand that feeds you?”
im with the crowd that will stop following/donating/supporting UND teams that do this. Already stopped following professional sports. The fans gave athletes their platform and they can just as easily take it away.
