Zach Parise scores his 8th goal tonight against the Hurricanes. Grant Marshall made the entire play, but Zach ended up scoring a rebound goal. Parise's warming up!

Parise just scores for the Devils. Sorry, wrong thread, but I'm excited.

Hak's Pre-game Interview: Don't like to use the word "desperation" but they're important games for us. Need to go out, be aggressive, and go after a win tonight. Forget about the standings for the time being, and worry about these two games. Shown more consistency, grown up as a team. Weren't real disappointed after last week, because of how we've grown as a team. Need to find way to win games though. They're a veteran team with seniors and juniors. We're on the other end of the spectrum, but we know how we have to go out, execute and perform. Have a core leadership group of guys who need to step forward and take the lead. Stafford is a guy who has stepped forward, but needs to take another step. Has taken a lot of heat in the past, but is a leader on this team. CC has lost 4 games in a row, and this is a team with pride. May have to weather the storm in the beginning of the game. Need to counter it, take the energy away from them. Have the skill and the ability to score goals. Have scored pretty and ugly goals. Going to need ugly goals against this team. Jordan Parise will be the guy we go to tonight. Guys look to him for leadership.

Just about time for pre-game. Need a win. Nothing really else can be said. Doesn't matter how we get it done. Simply need to get it done!

Zach Parise and Mike Commodore are facing off against one another tonight (Devils/Hurricanes). So far, they haven't been on the ice at the same time, but we'll see if Mike clocks Zach at all. Maybe Hale and Commodore will get into it!

And on the PP, SHOOT the puck!!!! Don't wait for the perfect play to be set up!

The last time I predicted the Sioux to lose a Friday night game (Mankato series), they proved me wrong and swept the weekend. Let's hope they do it again this weekend! Friday Night: CC 5, Sioux 2 Saturday Night: Sioux 4, CC 3 Go Sioux!

Nothing wrong with that girl! Sweet music on ice!

As Woog stated, the majority of Kessel's assists have come because of rebound goals. Have to give the Gopher's credit for having garbage goal getters on their team, which the Sioux seem to be lacking, but that doesn't state that Kessel is better than Oshie. Oshie is the guy who goes to the net, while Kessel will sit in the top slot and shoot while his teammates go to the heavy traffic in front of the net.

He did pretty bad in the "Rapid Fire" contest last night too. He let up four of the first five shots, and I was yelling, "Sieve" at the TV!

Parise gets an assist to go along with his goal in tonight's Devils/Senators game. I believe this is Zach's first multi-point game in a Devil's uniform.

Tony Ioni from Black Sabbath and one of the Village People???

I don't think I've heard that one. How does it go?

Zach Parise scores 1:52 into the Devils/Senators game tonight on a nice pass from Sergei Brylin. Zach's 7th goal of the season. It was also stated that Zach will be going to North Dakota during the olympic break to practice with the Sioux and watch Jordan play. Maybe he'll fire up the team! "Most players going to the Bahamas or somewhere warm, I'm going to North Dakota!"

Showcasing his hidden talent.

Curtis Murphy will participate in the AHL All-Star Skills Competition tonight, in the hardest shot competition. Murph is the only former Sioux playing, but there are a lot of other former college players in the competition as well (e.g. John Pohl, Junior Lessard, Al Montoya, Yann Davis, etc.). Should be entertaining and better than the State of the Union Address.

Maybe next year, they'll play some Red Seal Peach. Maybe that will get the boys in the mood to play.

That's Psycho buddy!

Blais's first two seasons with the Sioux: 37-36-4 However, he didn't have the players that Hak has playing for him.

I don't think it's a freshman problem. They're producing as freshman should. It's the upperclassman who need to step up. However, expecting 17 & 18 year olds to step in and play as if they're 21 or 22, immediately, is yet another asinine comment on this message board. Now, at this point in the season, the freshman can't really play the freshman card anymore, but I don't think they are doing that. This team is lacking chemistry on the ice. In regards to Dean Blais coming back...I doubt he wants to. He's succeeded at the college level, and wants his shot in the pros. Blais first few years were rough too, but turned around for him. Give Hak a chance. So many fans called for his head last year, and he turned it around. This years team is a different team, so I won't say the same will happen, but he's still only a 2nd year coach. The biggest problem is that we've been spoiled since 1997 with elite hockey teams, with the exception of one year. Everyone seems to forget the early 90s. Yes, Blais did make us a stronger program all around, and Ralph helped immensely by giving us a beautiful arena, but off years are bound to occur. No one likes it but it happens. I do think you need to recruit guys who will stay for four years, so you don't have the big turnover consistently, but we also need the top players as well.

St. Cloud scored 18 seconds into overtime. It's over.
