  1. UAA is outplaying them right now, but the Goofs got lucky.
  2. TH not predicting any upsets this weekend, and only CC/Tech to go 3 games.
  3. Hak Pre-Game Comments: It's playoff time. You can't pick your poison. Any way, shape, or form, we're happy to be playing in playoff time. You want to continue playing well at this time of year, no matter what. Last weekend, we had the opportunity to put ourselves in position to place 3rd in the league. We've been in playoff mode to a certain degree. Need to raise the intensity level a little bit tonight. We want to go out, play hard and play together. You obvious want to get two in a row, but this is the game were focused on now. Real key to be as healthy as you can. Watkins is out of the line-up. Awfully close to being ready to go. Going with the same line-up as last Saturday night. Everyone played well together. Vande Velde did a great job last week, and he needs to play that way again now. He needs to sustain that level of play. He'll could be a real key to us tonight. This has to be a speed game for us. Have to try to be aggressive offensively. PK has been solid over the past 6 weeks to 2 months. Obvious that has to continue during playoff time. Specialty teams always are an important part of the game. Very proud of the 11 WCHA Academic players. If you're doing a good job in the classroom, you do a good job on the ice. They go hand in hand. Awful important for Phil to be playing as well as he is right now. His battle level has been excellent. He's been consistent and focused. That's what we wanted our team to take on, and it's fed off his performance to a certain degree.
  4. I haven't seen this elsewhere, but my apologies if it is posted in another thread. Nice article on the Sioux. On Fire Again
  5. You've trained her well! Job well done Hockey Mom!
  6. That's hard to argue against Goepfert. He's truly been the backbone to that team this year, and will continue to be in the playoffs. In my green shades, I say Dunc's of course, but when I take them off, they're both very deserving.
  7. Congrats Dunc's and Taylor! The hype about Oshie and Toews did overshadow Dunc's ability, and he definitely put his name on the radar of every team we play. Not that surprising though to Sioux fans. Anyone who followed this team from Feb-April last year, knew that Dunc's was going to be something special. He played good all last year, but he was one player I definitely noticed dial it up a notch in last year's playoff run. Glad to see the rest of the country was clued in about him.
  8. That was great!
  9. I guess that's a seat for someone else than!
  10. Zajac nets a goal in tonight's Devils/Penguins game with Parise getting the secondary assist.
  11. C'mon PCM! Fire back with Miller's stats!
  12. Precisely. On paper, the Goofs should sweep this series. They have the far more talented team, and they're playing at home. However, they haven't been playing their best hockey as of late, and it is the WCHA playoffs, where heart counts, and the Goofs haven't always been known to play with heart. I do expect them to win, but it wouldn't shock me too much if they didn't sweep or even lost in 3.
  13. Agree 100%. Lessard had a great season, and I'm not saying he wasn't worthy of the award. However, this is supposedly an award given to the best college hockey player in the country, and Zach was arguably the best player in college hockey that year (and possibly his freshman year as well). Looking outside of stats, Parise played both ends of the ice equally as hard. Very few of his teammates or opponents, if any, would outwork the kid on the ice. Where the WJ's may have taken away from his stats, he was the best college hockey player that year.
  14. That's a fair assessment. IMO, Joe reminds me a lot of Matt Smaby. Like Joe, Smaby had some poor play in his first year and a half at UND. However, he turned it around for the better, and we grew to really appreciate what he brought to the rink every night. Joe may not be at the same skill level as Smaby was, but it is very evident that he is making growth. I believe he'll turn into a solid defenseman, and provide great leadership to this team in the next few years, as Smaby did.
  15. Zach Parise puts in his 27th goal of the year in tonight's Devils/Flyers game.
  16. BINGO! That was very blatant in Team USA's first game of the WJC. When things went bad, Johnson tried to do everything himself. Forgot about using his teammates, and just kept shooting and shooting. Where things turned around for Team USA, he displayed his true character during that game.
  17. Wait a minute! Isn't this the same guy that people were saying should be shipped off to the NHL as soon as possible? Can't be the same guy! Great job Joe!!!
  18. No, we're smart! No sweeps in your predictions; that could happen with as tight as the league is this year. I do think some teams will get through it in two, but it will be an interesting weekend to watch.
  19. I just figured since you were in the HOPING mood, you'd wish for 3 games there too!
  20. Bochenski notches a goal in tonight's Devils/Bruins game. That's 2 points for Bo, zero for Zach and Travis.
  21. Why wouldn't you wish UW/DU goes 3 games too, to give everyone but us one more game to play, making us more rested before the F5? That game has high potential to go 3 games too, as I think DU can still at least one. Okay, me personally, I think DU will win 2, but Elliott will be the key factor for the Badgers. Well, that and their offense that may or may not show.
  22. They do mention that Forney is a true freshman, but they fail to mention that he's been battling a shoulder injury all year long, and this has affected his game, including ice time. As far as Kozek....better turn it on next year or his rights may be waived.
