Hak Post-Game Comments:
Came out with a purpose tonight.
Made some plays around the net.
No question they had some distractions, and we were the hungrier team.
Don't know if we had more to play for. What it comes down to is it's a hockey game. You put the jersey on and play.
Martens did a lot of good things tonight.
Wanted him to add some playmaking, and he did that.
A little low on energy after missing 4 or 5 weeks.
Nice to see him come out and get a goal.
Got good contributions this weekend.
Thought all of our lines played well.
To see some of our other lines chipping in is nice to see.
Geopfert having the night off, and that has something to do with it.
End of the night, it's a win for us.
I like the way we played.
Closed out the game well. Kept putting on the pressure.
I've heard in the past there's certain games that don't matter.
I don't buy into that. Every game matters. You put the jersey on, every game matters.
I believe every game is part of your season.
Don't want to lose that good feeling.
It's going to be critical that we have 4 lines that can go, and 4 lines that can play.
The more you get some playmaking depth, and grinding depth, obviously it's a good thing.
You look back to December 16th/17th; you have to go some tough times to grow.
You really show character when you can come through those times.
We're still battling. We talked about that. We talked about where we were at back then, and we're not going to go back there, where we were in December.
As far as the first round of the playoffs, you just have to focus on one game at a time.
Look at the league play; everybody is good. Everyone will show up with intentions of winning that first playoff series.
We'll go home tonight, and we'll start preparing.
We should be able to go into it energized, and reasonably healthy.
Our goal was to try to put ourselves to be in the WCHA tournament, and to put ourselves as good as possible for the National Tournament.
We take an awful lot of pride in our play this year. We want to get back to the Final Five in St. Paul.
