TH saying that St. Cloud backup is going to play some tonight. Expecting Goepfert to start, but the backup come in shortly after, whenever that is. That only bodes well for us!

Haven't heard yet, but I'm hoping black as well. They seem to play with attitude when wearing black.

If it came down to Sioux hockey vs digging people out, I'd be the bad Samaritan. I'd be in the same boat as Seinfeld and friends in the last episode!

Porter Interview on Iron Man Record: I've been hurt, but nothing serious enough to keep me out of the game. I think the record is pretty special. When I came in, didn't know if I would be in the lineup every night. Coach Blais gave me the opportunity as a freshman. Just tried to stay healthy and come into the season in shape. I just take it day by day, game by game. A lot of guys are leaving after their sophomore or junior year. I've enjoyed playing here all 4 years. I thought our line played really well last night. We've been off, so I thought we stepped up. We need to come back with the same effort. Vande played great. I thought our line played on all cylinders. We just need to keep it simple, which is what I thought he did. It's fun to be a part of the way we're playing right now. It's exciting for the fans and it's exciting to be on the bench watching it. We need these 2 points tonight to help us try to get 3rd place.

I thought Kozek had spurts last night where he looked really good. Hopefully we see more of that tonight. Vande Velde probably played better than anyone else last night, and we definitely need that again tonight, to take some pressure of the DOT line. Hak Pre-Game Comments: Home ice is something we've been clawing and scratching for...really, all year. We had an opportunity to do that last night. Thought we would need 2 points, but 1 did it. Now, we want to do whatever WE can do to give ourselves a chance at 3rd place. You want to put yourself in as good as position to not have to play in the Thursday night play in game. If you can avoid it, you avoid it. Vande Velde was a huge spark for our team last night. His goal was 10 or 15 seconds after St. Cloud scored. He created a lot on that goal, getting himself inside and next to the net. He'll have to challenge himself to be that same player tonight. Porter and Miller are players that energize you. That line really had some energy last night, and it looked like they had some chemistry last night. Porter breaking the iron man record for UND is a big thing. It shows how much work he does on and off the ice. Taking care of his body, and maintaining good nutrition. Last year, he played 2 1/2 months with a knee that needed some work to it. That really shows what kind of leader he is. I thought our series in Grand Forks was a heck of a series. Both teams have definitely gotten better. Last night was a game of momentum swings. One team would carry the play for 4 or 5 minutes, and then it would switch around. St. Cloud is a good team. I like what they have offensively. It makes them dangerous. Last night was pretty even 5 on 5. Like I said, it was a game that had some flow to it. Probably pretty fitting that the game ended in a tie. One line-up change tonight. Martens in for Forney. Just want to add some stability. Giving them both one game this weekend was our plan. Forney's had to battle this season. Marty is coming off an injury. He brings a lot of poise, and playmaking ability. May even see him on the 2nd PP unit tonight. As good as a team as St. Cloud has been all year, they'll play big for Senior night. We have our goals that we need to accomplish.

As long as we take care of things on the ice, every game (which = win), good things will happen!

That's probably a fair assessment for some fans on the board, but not all. I'm sure you didn't mean it in regards to all Sioux fans though, but just trying to make a point. There are a lot of complaints on officials on this site. Some of them are made through green glasses, while others have an argument. Overall, I don't think the refs do that bad of a job. Some are worse than others, but for the most part, it's done pretty well. I guess I look back to a Mike Prpich interview earlier in the year that he had with Sweeney. Prp said that the refs in the league do a good job for everything they have to put up with, along with everything else going on the ice. That coming from a guy who continually agitated opponents, and saw his fair share of time in the box, who am I to argue with him?

Hak Post-Game Comments: Before overtime, just sat back and thought, "What a hell of a game this is." Very exciting game for the people up in the stands. Very important point for us. At least solidifies home ice for us. Come back tomorrow night and try to do better than just home ice. Vande Velde line was probably our best line tonight. Talked earlier about what Vande Velde could add, and he certainly did that. Didn't play like a freshman tonight. *Laughing about TH predicting VV first goal tonight* Got a couple of goals at the doorstep tonight. Have to get those. Hard earned point. Chorney pipe shot could have been huge, but who knows how it would have changed the game. Miller hit the crossbar right before they went on the PP in OT. Phil was solid throughout, regardless of what Redwing77 thinks. We had some turnovers, and they countered on us really quick. We ended up taking some penalties trying to counter some turnovers. Definitely some areas to build off of. The guys played hard and that's really what we need from them. We came tonight looking for home ice. We accomplished that. Whatever is there tomorrow, we want to go after. Personally, I think we still have a lot to play for. We want to finish as high in the standings as possible. Now you start looking at PWR. Have to play hard every single game. This is what it will be the rest of the year. This was definitely a playoff game for us. Let's see what we can do tomorrow night.

With the way we played, and with St. Cloud playing as well as they have lately, I can't complain about a tie. Definitely would have taken the tie over the loss, like last Friday in Denver.
