  4. Hak pre-game comments: A lot of good players out here tonight on the ice. A lot of good players on both benches. Bottom line, it comes down to two teams, and both teams will be real competitive. There obviously doing things offensively very well. I didn't watch any of their non-conference games, but what I saw them doing last week is getting pucks to the net, and keeping things simple. They played hard, especially Saturday night. I hope the one thing we can do is show them a level of speed, and maybe another notch of tenacity that they haven't seen. Not saying we'll push them back on their heals right away, but hopefully over 60 minutes, we can take it to them. We have to make some plays, and stick with speed. We finalized lines last night. We should be in good shape. I think mentally, everyone should be ready to go. Some guys are knocked up, but they're in, so I expect them to play solid hockey. They're either in and going 100% or not in, so we expect 100% from them. I thought that Jake and Derrick did very well last week. Are there going to be mistakes? Absolutely. We have good confidence in them, or else we wouldn't have them in there as a pair. Stats are what they are, but all you can control is the game going on tonight.
  5. Audio link up.
  6. I'm telling you, it's the "Department Of Victory" line, because when they don't score, we don't seem to win!
  7. Frattin was hurt in Saturday's game. Only expected to be out a week or so, but I'm sure Hak is covering all the bases, and making sure he'll have what he needs to field the best team possible.
  8. He's extremely fast. He reminds me of Scotty Gomez when he starts the rush and just goes by everyone.
  9. The joy of the WCHA...watching our star players get mugged without calls. Happened to ZPar, will happen to T.J. all season long. Such a great way to entice extraordinary players to stay in the WCHA for another year. Thanks PCM!
  10. Hey PCM, Panzer was robbed!
  11. Let's see...if I remember correctly, the last time we were on the pond, him and his older brother were both making a quick exit from the rink, after tripping me (due to my superior speed and grace), and me getting up and saying, "Oh, we're playing Canadian rules, eh?"
  12. Love the "Young Players" commercial!
  13. How do you know he did?
  14. Yeah, as long as he had permission from the wife!
  15. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  16. Starting jobs are determined in practice. Underclassmen have beaten out upperclassmen in the past. Schweitzer/Kvalevog; Parise/Brandt; meanwhile, others have had to wait their turn: Kollar/Goehring. It's a fair process, and great teams are made from guys who can accept their roles, and if your role is backup for that year, getting ready to step in and play when the team needs you, than so be it. Not saying AG left for lack of playing time. Hopefully, that wasn't the issue. The truth of the matter is, some players just don't fit into our program. It's a demanding program, and not everyone is a perfect fit.
  17. Maybe we can get Bachman to transfer!
  18. I voted to get rid of Hak!!! Why not? We've lost two games in the past two weekends (yeah, they were against quality teams, but c'mon, didn't anyone read the pre-season polls, we're the best!!!). And it's about that time of the year to get that thread started! Okay, in all reality, I personally think Sioux fans are overreacting, but it happens every time we lose a game. The Tech loss could have been a win, and Saturday night was simply poor play, and a good lesson to learn from. I have full confidence that Hak will have this team in the same position they've been in the past 3 years, come March. Go Sioux!!!
  19. Toews starts his new scoring streak with an assist in tonight's Blackhawks/Predators game.
  20. I think as the season goes along, and he gains more experience at the college level, Bachman will take over the top spot.
  21. I agree with that, though Hak said a lot was due to not getting any rebound shots. However, I thought if Duncan would have made the shot he did in the slot area, on O'Connell, it would have went in, and the Sioux would have led. That could have changed the entire tone of the game, putting CC down early again. The penalties in the 2nd period killed the flow of the game, and the Sioux never seemed to recover from that. If anything, question why he didn't start Bachman Friday night too, though he did answer that question in the pre-game on Friday night.
  22. If you ask nicely, maybe RedFrog will post it along with our lone goal.
  23. Looks like I pointed out the highlight of the night early on!!!
  24. That's it, start the thread!!!
  25. What I was saying is that this was our first loss at home since last December. Yes, it's a new season, but we've been fairly consistent. It's a loss, and it definitely wasn't our best game of the year. However, games like this make you a better team later in the year. You need these games to learn the tough lessons some times.
