neither does tommy so this is gonna go well i guess

He will be catching passes from Kaminski when his time comes! And Kaminski will have no problem throwing the deep ball.

As soon as we have tight ends that look like and play like NDSU and SDSU's I am all in.  Our's aren't going to the NFL or carry multiple FCS/FBS offers out of high school.

We need to transition to a running QB that can throw some also

I would flip that to a pass first QB who is also dynamic running. (Kaminsky has this!!)  I don't want us to have a game where we only complete one pass.  Yes that team ultimately won that game, but looking at SDSU, Gronowski is a passer first.

One thing I noticed while listening to this is Danny references winning a national championship. Bubba just talks about how happy they are to be recruiting the Midwest.  Is it a coincidence that our offense is way closer to national championship caliber than our defense?

  4. Wasn't Cloyd in Rudolph's era?  Danny's offense is completely different and by all accounts easier to learn. Look no further than Red being a huge piece in our offense for the entire season in his first season with us.

It just means that the NDSU AD will make sure UND is always coming in at 17-24.

He needs to be off the dang committee!! The committee should be made up of the conference commissioners.  They will fight for their conference and be more fair than biased AD's.

Whatever you saw has probably been tore down since the picture was taken.

Pretty sure the most I've seen of the current locker room is from the background of an Otis Weah tiktoc dance video.

Anyway, the facilities situation with this recruit is kinda why I think it's funny that anyone claims UND has peaked under Bubba.  With the current facilities, sure.  But they will soon (suposedly) be much better.  I'd like to see what he can do at that point.

Will having better facilities have him not admit defeat against NDSU by punting when down multiple scores in the 4th? Will it change his reluctance to make a change until it is blatantly obvious that it needs to be made?

Although I don't think it was the weakest point last year, for me it's always start up front. Johnson returning is huge and I'm hoping Ogbu returns too. I get the sense that is the plan but would like confirmation. If nothing us changes, they'll lose Morrison (starter), depth upperclassman Keech / Thorsness and Fr. Ledbetter. Based on Bubba specifically calling out improving the D-Line, I'm hoping we'll see the O-Line portal approach from last year applied to the D-Line. This is the only position that I hope they try to sign multiple portal players at.

Again, experience is good. However, Johnson and Ogbu probably aren't getting much bigger as grad students and right now they are undersized for what we need. I also don't have faith in our defensive coaching staff to not play 5th year guys. From what I see any transfers they bring in now will just be rotation guys. Hope I am wrong.

Big time. Very important piece returning. Need a few more key 5th year guys to confirm.

It is good to have experienced players, but we need to get way bigger on the defensive line. With Johnson coming back 2 out of 3 starters will be the same as last year. Need to get some big bodies to come in that can still play valuable reps.

  9. I went back and looked at our 2018 roster when we had Tank Harris and Austin Cieslak on the D-Line.  Cieslak and Harris each went 290, with Mason Bennett being 260 at the other DE spot.  That is the size our D-Line needs to get back to in my opinion to be consistent at stopping the run.

His tweet about UND offering him the other day says UND was his 4th D1 offer, but I can’t find which other D1s offered him

I know one was Butler and one was Drake.  Can't remember the other.

Did Mitchell ever end up playing this season?  I know Skokna was out there a few times, but not I don't remember him touching the ball much.  Would be awesome to have these guys at full health for next year.

I believe he had one carry late in the Indiana State game.

Gotta think the offense will be better at every spot with the exception of RB. Need to hit a transfer there again to compliment what we currently have.

D can’t possibly be worse right? It’s gonna be transfer city on d. Better simplify things so the transfers can actually play game 1 and be comfortable.

This year our toughest games were kind of spread out. Next year we have a five game stretch of Boise, SDSU, WIU, NDSU, UNI. That’s tough. Add in USD on the road and our schedule is tougher next year in my eyes. I’m comfortable predicting 6 wins. Those 5 other games will be a test and a half.  Gotta see some splashes in the portal to feel confident about next year at all.

Don't completely disagree with RB next year, but do have confidence in Ziebarth from the small sample size we have seen.  A transfer is still needed for some depth as well as hopefully a couple of RB's in this years recruiting class.  For the high school guys would like to see a guy who is in an Isaiah Smith mold and another scat back like Mitchell and Skokna.

I guess they are wanting to have two quality kickers, the kicker we recruited last year looked like he had a pretty big leg.  His hudl had multiple kickoffs hitting the back of the end zone.  Or maybe after seeing him in practice this year they are not sure.  After the kicking debacles we've had lately...might just be being safe to have two quality kickers in case of injury.

Woulda been even better if his last name was spelled Dokken instead :D

From what I have heard, Elrichs who we recruited last year will be our kickoff guy.  Sounds like his technique with field goals isn't always consistent.

Unfortunately if he keeps this up the future may not be in a hawk uniform.

Not to worried about him leaving.  He has a great connection with Danny and he has been very active on twitter this last week showing lots of love for UND!

I was thinking something like this. The I-94 trophy or something.

Would it make more sense for it to be the I - 29, since I - 94 doesn't go through Grand Forks?

I think both are fair points.  It's a fine excuse, but they still suck.  And they weren't saying that pre season.  Bison reload, Zeb will be another NFL qb etc.  Funny how the talking points change.

Snooped in on the Sunday Night Bizon Chat hosted by Izzo and McFeeley. Interesting to say the least. Excuses were flying and heads were being called for. The one comment that stuck out to me is how the reason UND looks good right now is that they didn't lose anything. I mean I get it NDSU lost some dudes, but isn't a programs job to always be prepared for losing dudes and, as for guys leaving for the draft or transfering, no one made them do that..........

If the Bison are talking about Lance and Radunz, I believe UND also lost it's starting QB and C to graduation. We are starting a brand new QB, just like they are. Didn't lose anything? Really?

I would guess he will start at QB. Watching his hudl tape he has a solid arm and athleticism. Nice to see us building quality depth at the most important position.
