I like the take but doubt it. UND has good tailgating but SDSU has great tailgating. I was at SU tailgating three years ago and it was bigger than UNDs. UNDs is still run as an afterthought.

This take is on us being better than NDSU. No one mentioned anything about us being better than SDSU.

This. We need to roll from here. The timing is excellent with Memorial Village coming online soon with PACA shortly thereafter. The stage is literally set and we have the righty people at president and AD finally to support every program the way they deserve.

    PACA?

They gave him the assist during the game. Then they pulled it.

It was definitely a takeaway that went to gaber stick for the finish. The “black and white” statistician would say it was a takeaway that happened to land in gabers stick. The human watching the game would say Perron was trying to do that. That was a pass.

It should count as an assist, but it won't since it never touched Perron's stick.

I wonder if he would if he were not #1.  My bet is that he would retire from football or maybe even play a backup role helping our new starter.

That could certainly happen too. I just think if he loses the job here and has an opportunity to play elsewhere he would take it.

Lots of QB hate here but this guy will be the all time leader in pretty much everything, stat wise, when he is done. It’s been a long time since we’ve had this kind of stability back there. We should feel very lucky. because we have no idea what we got behind him. A lot of hope.

This is Tommies team. If there was another quarterback on the roster better than the one who has been starting, Who gave us a better chance to win, they would start. If Tommy lays a complete dud this weekend, maybe you think about pulling the trigger on someone else. But it would have to be a complete meltdown.

Considering he finishes the year, If Tommy comes back, and isn’t any better than he has been showing in the big games, you got a think it’ll be an open competition between at least the top three guys. Or they tell Tommy that he should transfer, grad transfer, or go somewhere else and hand the keys to Trey.

I am optimistic that we can make this a game on Saturday. It used to be we would need several things to go our way to win this game. If our defense plays the way, it did against Boise, we have a legitimate shot. If it was the Defense that played South Dakota State, we are in big trouble. They will once again, drop the plow, and go to town. We have to stop the run and run the ball. This means this game is not going to be won by Tommy, but by the offensive & defensive lines.

Well said, except I think Kaminski is starting next year over Trey. I suspect it will be a great battle in fall camp between the top 3 which Kaminski wins. Tommy transfers and Trey hopefully stays to push Kaminski and be a great backup.

For the people who say Tommy doesn't have a big enough arm, how far would you like him (or another QB) to throw?

To me my benchmark is 50 -60 yards so you can get the ball to the end zone on a hail mary. The bigger thing for me with Tommy are those tight window throws. Will he take them and put enough steam on them to beat the coverage?

You don’t get to start cuz of your potential. Give the kid a chance to adjust to the speed and complexity of the college game.

Exactly! Rush to play the kid as a true freshman and maybe he isn't ready and we ruin him or redshirt a kid with a ton of potential so we have an extra year of him playing at a high level when he is ready?

Played well, blocking was phenomenal! Too bad serve receive broke down at the end of the 5th. Pink jerseys were very fun!

Anyone notice how every game there are different girls on bench not dressed in uniform with headphones on? I can only imagine it’s concussions, but do we really have that many who get hit in the head?

I have only noticed Gayle and Olson, and Gayle was back playing last night.

Who are the top five centers.
Will Bubs adopt a 9-3 mindset and not the traditional top6/bottom6.
Do you put former USHLers together (OMac-James; Perron-Emerson) looking for past magic.
Will there be a go-to face off guy.
Who runs the point on the power play.

All these new faces; so many open questions.

Sounds like Berg will be our top face off guy.  Schlossman is hoping to see a jump from Schmaltz and McLaughlin as well in the faceoff circle.

  10. I would say for the most part yes!  We had a couple of ill timed service errors late in the second set that let ORU get that set from us.  Clean up the serving and continue to get experience for players like Darr and we should be okay.

whadya know.....dabo sweeney didn't like his kicker so he called up a kid that was clemson's backup for a long time and said job's yours...first kick....30 yard right thru......

    difference between bubba and dabo...........?

That kicker just shanked a short one.

They didn’t look good last night.
Hornyak on the bench in crutches.
    McCormick also wasn’t dressed.
Someone else was in a boot (Rivière perhaps). That could be why ball control was bad, but overall rough start to conference. Need to play better Saturday otherwise could lose to 2 teams picked lower than them in preseason pool.

We definitely need McCormick and Hornyak in the back row for our defense.  Their passing and serving were missed last night.  I feel like last nights game goes differently if we have them. They make the job easier for our setters which makes our hitters better. Hopefully they return soon.  Still excited for this season and the future of UND volleyball!

I can understand why some fans wouldn’t be pleased, but I’m wondering how anyone here knows how the coaches and players are feeling.

Listen to Coach Tupac's last press conference.  He says they play a hard non-conference intentionally to push themselves. He goes onto say that he tells the team they shouldn't be discouraged by the current record, but they take the good and bad and use it all as a learning opportunity. I suspect we will be fine in conference play.

This is correct. We don't have the same level of players that the top 2 teams in our conference have. We do not have any defensive players that would start at either of the SU's. Offense might have a couple but not many. This is the problem. I'm not sure if it's because they won't come here or if our coaches can't identify them.

Another reason I think Danny would be great as our next head coach. Look at the players he is bringing in this year and already next year on offense.

QB - Kaminski (Had other D1 offers and looks like the real deal)

RB - Seidl and Brunell (Seidl had multiple D1 offers as does Brunell)

WR - Tai (Other D1 offers and some walk ons that look different than our past in Hakim and Deng)

TE - Work in progress. A good season from Quincy will help.

OL - Maciezak (lost to Nebraska on a scholarship offer) Lopau, Alton Williams, Stobbe, Bell (Other D1 offers)

As Danny has turned our offense into one of the top in FCS, the recruiting has picked up. Would think he would do the same to improve our defense. Also will help with our facilities being done next year, Alston awards, and new buildings on campus.  I work in our admissions office and hear daily from visiting students that our campus is one of the top in the region and consistently hear we are better than NDSU!

if weight rooms dictate results on the field.......1 title in 20 some years with the premier college hockey weight room in the country tells you it's not the size or location of the weight it's the .......you know the rest.

I agree that their are other factors.  For our football team it would be special teams coaching in certain areas, decisions made by the head coach, lack of recruiting on defense.  These last couple years I have had almost no questions on our offense.
