  1. We went the AirBnB route too. Can have the amenities of a house, cheaper, and good location too.
  2. In a selfish way, I hope not so I can still get decent seats at the face price
  3. I think it's possible given the location and the amount of success with attendance in past HHF games. This is a fun town.
  4. I'll be curious to see how hard it will be to obtain tickets via General public. A lot of groups have access before the general public.
  5. Are the business suits back to being business suits now?
  6. Went to a MN v Notre Dame when they were #1 in the country just be we were in town and I could’ve sat wherever I wanted. Was mind blowing. Lack of beer sales was a buzzkill too. Literally.
  7. Not that I saw. But I don’t know as I made my DU fan brother buy mine lol. Hoping for a lot of green and black.
  8. Technically yes but when they haven’t seen (ND, Michigan, MSU) in conference since 1981, that argument isn’t very relevant to today’s attendance “problem”. I don’t see a “rivalry renewed” situation. MN would be the only one that would garner that tag in my opinion.
  9. I’ll take a split too. And you’re correct. All 4 games were close with 2 going into extra time. This has set up to be a good series this weekend. Will be fun to see all the black and green in Magness. Is it Thursday afternoon yet? I want to get there already
  10. Add in high school state football which could be a factor.
  11. Ticket prices are a factor for some, not ALL people who may want to attend. Like previously stated, lowering prices may help on a single game ticket basis, but what benefits most is raising season ticket numbers. If there's still a wait list, that's fantastic. If that goes away, the issue isn't the price, it's the product. The whole thread started regarding STUDENT attendance. You can lead a horse to water, can't make it drink. They have the opportunity to go, just choose not to.
  12. I think the "problem" will sort itself out if the team does like what Dori preaches, "JUST KEEP SWI....WINNING"
  13. Agreed. I'm not local so I can't speak to this, but are all home games televised locally? This would and could be a huge reason why people don't show. Too readily available to watch at home with your own toilet and beer fridge. Not to mention food and comfort.
  14. My point is, the issue isn't what goes on around the arena ,i.e. prices, @SiouxFan100 said it themself, "Ticket prices aren't a factor." If people want to go, they'll go. People just aren't wanting to go. If it was cheaper, that would be nice, yes, but that isn't the driving factor to get butts in seats. ON ICE product is a bigger driver. I'm sure they lost quite a few people for missing playoffs for the past few years instead of cost reasons.
  15. I'm a bad reader. Where does it say it increased attendance?
  16. The thoughts on the BIG10. They're not a superior hockey conference. And I'm no guru, but working in sports for some time, lowering prices is a slippery slope that doesn't mean attendance rises. You want attendance to rise in Season Tickets not single game. Once you lower prices, and it flops or doesn't help attendance, you're screwed because then you piss off people by raising again. You're better to keep consistency and rely and on the ON ICE product to drive attendance. More wins does that. Look at the Chicago Blackhawks, as much as I hate to use them as a reference. Success brings fans. They haven't bee super good the last couple years but they still fill the building because of that success from 2010-2016
  17. @SIOUXFAN97 I hope you're kidding. But to the larger point. Why do fans who attend care so much if students fill the seats? I'd be willing to bet that the students you want to fill those seats couldn't care less about the game or they would be there. No point in filling the stands with students who don't care. The ones who do care show up. And you show up. You're there, enjoying the game, and if they win thats what we all want. I could be the only one in the stands and would really only care if they win or lose. Not who's sitting or not sitting across the building.
  18. If they win the game who cares. On the ice is more important than off.
  19. This ties directly into the same mentality as beating non-cons. Win the series you SHOULD, especially at home. Miami, CC, Omaha, and WMU are all series where a split is the worst outcome. Beat the teams you should, handle business with better teams (at least, split) and we’ll be fine come end of the year.
  20. I wonder if it’s to promote sales. I’m sure not too many paid for the authentic plus customization charge of 400+ the last several years
  21. Which is good and bad. I want the real thing but will take the “official unofficial” on ice authentic for a cheaper price. Kills me the NCAA current player lettering rule.
