And yet somehow it is ranked the toughest in the country.

If you're going to the Spud you might as well stop & have one at Shenanigans. I do believe that Southgate, Whitey's, Big Daddy's, and other bars run a shuttle to and from the Ralph. I think it costs a dollar and you get a free drink upon arriving safely back at the establishment from where you left.

Does this apply to Sioux fans all across North America or just the ones at REA? Kind of like the time my wife wanted a few of the empty beer cups from the Metrodome for something and she said to me as I was walking out the door on my way to a game, "Drink as many beers as you can today". Between the four of us we managed to bring back 23 cups (one guy quit at halftime to drive us home). At $5.50 per beer ($126.50 total) we figured that we could have purchased several cases of beer and just about any set of glasses she would have wanted and still come out ahead, but what kind of story would that have made?

I liked this thread so much that I posted a link to it on USCHO last night. The SiouxSports.com server took so many hits that it knocked it off-line for 45 min or so. Sorry 'bout that. I just think it is something that makes college hockey special and I wanted to share it with people that would never be on this board and have a chance to read it.

If, by some strange alignment of the planets, UMD was to win the Cup, it would be presented at the DECC during the 1st round of playoffs. It has already been stated by UMD officials that they would want the ceremony on home ice. It is basically a moot point since UND will sweep MTU and skate around the Ralph with the MacNaughton Cup this weekend! As far as when to present the Cup, I would say as soon as you know you have won it outright let the celebration commence. Let them party on Friday, play the seniors & scrubs on Saturday and get ready for whomever comes to town the following weekend.

The Sioux Sports Network is on a "big" dish. The only satellite service on a small dish is DirecTV, Dish Network, and a new HDTV service called "Voom". None of the three have any plans to carry Victory at this time, and with a per-subscriber asking price of around $2.20, I doubt it will be on anytime soon.

I looked for the article to back this up but I couldn't find it so I am doing this from memory. Four of the five games will be televised on Fox Sports Net - North. The 2:00 game on Friday is the only one not scheduled as of now. The NCAA regional rights are owned by Victory.
