    2 or 3 seed

Don't believe they are tied but I think the higher RPI wins. I think MN is a 1 seed, depending on the quality win bonuses, MN has 1 road, 1 home, Cornell has 1 neutral, adding in at 3,2,1 this tips a comparison and MN ends up 4, Cornell 5. I'm making a lot of guesses here, since I haven't followed the bracketology and reasoning that closely. Just have to wait until 10AM tomorrow, or see if Wooten or someone else has it figured out on USCHO.

    2 or 3 seed

Best guess: Minneapolis MN vs Wisco Cornell vs Maine Grand Rapids CC vs Bemidji OSU vs UNH Amherst BC vs. Mercyhurst ND vs Harvard Worcester Denver vs Colgate Mich vs BU The only place to move 4 seed Wisco to avoid a conference matchup would be to AMherst to face BC; I doubt they'll give the overall 1 seed a tougher matchup than one of the last two teams in (Mercyhurst, Bemidji). So, I think Wisco will face MN in Marriucci in the first round. Don't think they'll keep Mich in Michigan. Overall seeding (3,2,1 bonus) is: 1-BC 2-CC 3-Denver 4-MN 5-Cornell 6-Mich 7-UNH 8-UND 9-Harvard 10-OSU 11-BU 12-Maine 13-Wisco 14-Colgate 15-Bemidji 16-Mercyhurst

    UND vs. Gophs

I believe if BC beats UNH, Sioux pass UNH and get a 2 seed. If UNH wins, Sioux are tied with Harvard at 8 but lose to Harvard by RPI tiebreaker, then becoming the top #3 seed. Hard to be for BC, but maybe for one night. EDit: guess mory has a scenario that gets them higher than that, but still a 2

Frank and Doug were much better than usual; more fair to the Sioux and gave credit where it was deserved. I've never heard credit from Woog for good defense, but today he said it; often. Course then two Sioux dmen score goals. Been waiting for a long time for the shot from the point to find a way into the net; finally today Greene's shot did.

Super third period effort; didn't think they'd have that much left. Hope they picked up the puck for Robbie. This ones for him.

    UND vs. Gophs

The calls are much more like it was in October. Not bad calls against the Sioux, but seemingly they are going just one way. A big time slash on Stafford with the Gophers on the PP. A referee and both AR's could not have all missed that one, I'd guess Anderson was looking at it so the AR's had to ignore it. Maybe the Sioux are paying for complaining about the Denver game officiating. Spirko's shorty was worth watching what's been a boring game for the Sioux. Undressed a dman and Briggs in short order. Sioux picked up the pace after the Spirko goal. If they have legs left the third period may be better than the first two.

Shepherd comment; Adam can't see everything, but one of the AR's should have seen it and changed the call. Once again, protect your incompotent friend, blame the ar's. What else is new. College hockey will not change with this moron at the helm.
  8. It was unbelievably obvious watching the WJC live in GF last December how much better the game is when players play by the rules, because they know they have to; a tourney full of major canadian junior players and it's played clean, not that canadian juniors aren't better officiated than college hockey (i believe they are). It was great to watch, and a shining example of what we might see in college hockey as opposed to what we get to see.
  9. Also, an earlier similar hit from behind by May was a "Minor". Same hit, same call, but a better result in that no injury occurred. Adam had the chance right there to let the teams know hitting from behind is absolutely unacceptable, and did not. The second one results in a possible career ending injuiry for Bina.
  10. His post seems more than bizarre, kind of like the Hirsch show last night. Maybe there was something in the X' ductwork blowing around out there, or he was sniffin' to much zam exhaust.

We've seen Anderson, Adam, and little Shep, so the worst is done. If you can answer who is the next worst you'll probably find today's official. Oh, no, not Mason Seems that Zelkin and Campion have disappeared. Are they non-members of Shepherds good ole boy network?
  12. It doesn't appear they'd end up in the same region, both would likely have to make the FF. I doubt you'd see the gloves dropped in an NCAA tourney game (at least not until late in the game with the outcome decided), especially when the Sioux stayed away from it in a more meaningless game yesterday. It appears Wisco is in, as BU's loss tipped that comparison in Wisco's favor, making them #13. All the favorites are in conference tourney finals, so no conference champion will take the place of anyone in the 1-14 slots (since all are already in one of those spots).
  13. Vernon starts off the playoffs (after a first round bye) with a 2-1 win, Watkins netting both goals.
  14. The INCH story on the Hirsch display and Paukopunk suspension.
  15. Appears the poster took the quotes out of context. Of course his inability to recognize what a hit from behind can do is not good. I don't think a punk like this should be playing hockey for a long while. It's not a "forecheck", idiot, from behind after the whistle on a delayed penalty. Get a clue.

We're all thinking of you Robbie. Hope your up and skating soon.
  17. Someone posted on USCHO that, in a Denver paper article, Paukovich is quoted as saying, "everyone can protect themselves." Doesn't sound like it matters to him what his illegal hit resulted in.

    UND vs. Gophs

I don't care who the Sioux or playing or if they are playing. Nor who wins or by how much. The only guys that need to lose are Shepard and crew; After two years of watching these dolts perform, I'm getting fed up with WCHA hockey.
  19. Good article, and one that needs to be read after yesterday. Actually, it needed to be out there before yesterday. Remember that weekend well, UAA hooked all Sioux forwards around the net and allowed Sioux to drag them around the ice. Went on for all six periods of the two games, got worse and worse as Mason allowed it to go on, and culmintaed in the stick ending up in Parise's face, bloodying him in the process. It was really only a matter of time before someone ended up with a broken neck with Shepard and crew at the helm. Will the league finally wake up now? It will no doubt take the combined effort of all coaches and possibley AD's of WCHA schools to take care of the mess Shepard has made with league officiating.
  20. In addition, May should have had a 5 minute hitting from behind earlier in the game, for a hit that was exactly like the one Paukovich made, except that an injury didn't result. Shepard and crew continue to be clueless. Who won the game was unimportant after those hits and non-calls.
  21. Had no idea Adam had signalled a goal on Zajac's non-goal. Knew the goal judge lit the lamp but didn't know Adam signalled it. I don't believe the referee is supposed to signal a goal unless he sees it cross the line. I didn't think the overhead cam showed anything, other than Fishers glovehand and arm halfway across the goal line. Never could see the puck. If Adam actually signaled a goal, I've no idea why he changed the initial call. So, goal light goes on, Adam signals goal, and Zajac celebrates, yet none of the three had a clue? After watching CC/Mn, it was again apparent that MN's defense is suspect when the opponent is able to pressure them in their own end. I don't think the Sioux have the legs or the players to do what CC did, but there is a chance. At least MN has to play on short rest tomorrow, partially, but not entirely, negating the disadvantage of 3 games in 3 days. And, a new comment for Woog to restate over and over again tomorrow, "What MN lacks is a defensive defenseman."
  22. What the heck; looks like you've found a full lineup to dress for tomorrow. Didn't seem to me there were enough left to do that. Which brings up a question, can the team take all players to the Final Five, or are some left at home as they are during the regular season. In other words, are Radke/Foyt in St Paul, or are they jumping a bus and heading there tonight.
  23. Don't know how many have been watching OSU/MSU on FSN prior to the start of MN/CC, but I've been watching closely to see if the CCHA is still calling things like the WCHA did early in the season (in other words, every weanie hook or one dman getting in the way of a potential forechecker to give his defensive partner more time to move the puck being called). To my surprise, neither team has done either during the entire first period. There is very little contact at all, almost no checking, and certainly not even marginal hooking or obstruction. I'd guess I have to believe the CCHA, at least, has stuck with the early season "rules". Either that or these teams don't play contact hockey. If the CCHA officials, are, in fact, calling the game by the "rules" the Sheppard crew used in October, every WCHA team is in for a major shock when they play with this officiating, just as every CCHA team is in for a shock playing with one of Sheppard's incompetents on the ice. This will be a very odd, and interesting, NCAA tourney.
  24. WAtching Murray leave the ice stickless with his shoulder hanging down, I expect we've seen the last of him this year. Even with a leg brace and shoulder harness he added a bunch to the Sioux lineup, and it will be a tough go without him. I'd expect him to be in for his knee surgery next week.
  25. Some apparently think Gwoz is a class act, but I have no respect for the thuggery that has been Denver under Gwoz. Two years ago, with little offense, his team resorted to full blown tackle hockey to even things up. Last year, with a bit more offensive talent, they interfered and obstructed to stay in games. This year, with an offense that led the nation for most of the year, they once again resort to cheap shot thuggery when the competition is playing too well to win without cheap shot hockey once again. Of course, Gwoz can only get by with this type of coaching with the total imcompetence of Sheppard and crew.
