I agree with you PCM, in spite of the rhetoric on USCHO board, that is a spearing, and, if Pio wasn't looking, the call should have been made by the AR. Pio was calling this game much closer than the MN/UND game, but, in spite of the fact that he did a better job than Shegos (IMO), he blew that call, big time. Apparently overlooking major penalties is not limited to the WCHA.

Kozek's Eagles won their series 4 games to 3 last night, and now move on to face Watkin's Vipers in the BCHL Fred Page Cup finals. Kozek has moved to #5 in post season scoring with 15 points (16 games), while Watkins is well down the list with 6 points (9 games). Duncan still sits as #2 although his post season has ended with 11 games (21 points).

Last year, a 1-0 Denver win (although Denver was not the better team then either) overroad 3-0-1 in the regular season. Last night Denver was the luckier team, I wouldn't rate them better, in that one game. Their record throughout the year along with the McNaughton, Broadmor, and NCAA titles make them the best team start to finish, however.

Didn't seem that way on TV either, although more even than the prior three Sioux NCAA games. Very good effort by the Sioux, bounces beat them. Denver also seemed to have the reviewed goals luck all year, as I remember they got 4-5 wins this year that they may not have, had the goal review not gone their way. Denver is a good team, but had the puck luck all year. Was hoping they'd used up the puck luck against CC with the 6 PP goals, most of which found their way through sticks, skates, etc, and into the net. But, for one last time, the bounces went their way.

Agree with that; I thought SHegos was awful in the games in Worcester (SIoux/BU and Sioux/BC), and even worse in the Denver/CC game. I've seen more than enough of him in the post season.
-
Shegos will be one then no doubt

Who's the referee, from what conference?
-
At a training outside DC, internet access but no sound and "no TV". Will be out in time to watch tonight, but I'm missing CC/DU. At the same time, I've learned all I'm going to learn this week and want out. May leave and take the chance at not being missed. Work stinks some days. Would be on leave if at home. Missing a Sioux alumni gathering in DC , about 80 miles from where I am, bummed.

Here's the direct link: Rodent Poontang

May make a special trip there from DC if we get to throw darts at wpos. Any other gophs lining up.

I think he found Harrington's. His is still somewhere in the x rafters.

For all too lazy to click the link, the $15 is already covered for those on the charter.

Kozek & Watkins feature videos Duncan's ROY story and SA team awards (Duncan gets 4)

Dubay obviously hangs around the message boards. Wonder what user name he uses? Chance are cfm has called him Skippy

Dubay just called posters on ss (regarding calling for Hak's head) a handfull of wierdos, a small part of the total fan base.

TH call in on Dubay show (TH called in after the Fargo Gopher fan gave his screwed up version of what was said on the coach's show Wednesday). This caller has miles to go to gain sudo reporter status. TH: Potulny and Irmen weren't even mentioned. Caller (on coach's show) asked about overated and underated Gophers, Tallackson and Harrington came up. The "slimy" guy was a compliment but was Sertich of CC, not a gopher player. JD: BU wouldn't crack the top 5 in the WCHA TH: Agreed, but BC is scary fast, faster than CC or Denver, getting the early lead was important, then stopping the BC PP. (I got the impression Dubay would like to believe BU and BC were inferior to top WCHA teams, only fair since we think Maine, Cornell were much inferior to all WCHA). DB: Asked about fans calling for Hak's head earlier in season. TH: Hak gave the team the "bag skate" after loss at UAA. Bring your skates only, skate until you hurl. Team turned around from that point on, puck started going into the net. TH: Update on Bina. He'll be at Columbus, doing well, TH doesn't think he should play any more. TH: Feels bad about being a "bumbling idiot" according to Gopher caller from Fargo.

Hennesey will be on with Dubay shortly. Yeah, the Fargo gopher fan's comments certainly didn't match the PCM report on the coach's show, guess one hears what he wants to hear.

For those wondering what to do around Columbus, USCHO poster Brewmaster is offering lots of info by emailing him. brewmaster@gtemail.net

Where did you leave Huey and Louey? Think we've picked up a ten year old. Cornell should have won; it would save all these extra trips to the ignore list.
-
Why did it take you so long to figure that out?
-
Sertich, Sterling, and McKee. Would guess that Sertich is going to win.
-
Correct, unless AZ recently changed and now use DST.

McLeod will be the third online for today's USCHO chat. Anyone going to ask him about the officiating in relation to the Punkovich incident.
