  1. Won't matter. If this is like any other Edina game I have seem Gleason's domination will be apparent to all watching. He is fun to watch play. He will be the best skater on the ice hands down.
  2. Vegas1 killed Vegas...
  3. If Dubay was a Dr. he would kill more people than Kevorkian. He's been right about college hockey about as much as Sid...
  4. I don't think that we are desperate for 2009, but I think we will pick up 1 more elite forward for 2009. Thus far I count 16 if you ignore the fact that we rarely see no one go pro early... The nice thing is that I think we already have the top 2008 class locked up, the 2009 looks to be top 3 if not the top class, and the 2010 class has a hell of a start with maybe the 2 top defensmen coming into college hockey in 2010. Chris VandeVelde Darcy Zajac Michael Forney Brad Malone Evan Trupp Matt Frattin Brent Davidson David Toews Brett Bruneteau Mike Cichy Brett Hextall Jason Gregoire Mario Lamoureux Danny Kristo Mike Fink Danny Mattson
  5. A little revisionist history there on Toews. While Toews was very good in the 2nd half of his freshman year, for the first half of the year he was very ordinary. This is no doubt related to the fact that he was a young 17.
  6. That will be fun to see...
  7. Toews, Parise, and others came in young. VV played a year in the USHL so for a fair comparison this is more like his Junior year. Also I assumption is that he will continue to improve like he has for the last season. If this is the case he will be one of the best big men in college hockey at year end.
  8. Lee has a little Jason Blake in him. He is feisty and never pass up a chance to shoot. Both of these can be very good...
  9. You are one of the people on here who knows his stuff, so I tend to believe what you are saying. I could see Landman filling out a roster, but with maybe 1 space left at forward the next 2 years, I don't think we will see him here.
  10. Here is the latest list of player that could be here in 2008: 2008 Forwards (19): TJ Oshie Ryan Duncan Andrew Kozek Ryan Martens Brad Miller Matt Watkins Chris VandeVelde Darcy Zajac Michael Forney Brad Malone Evan Trupp Matt Frattin Brent Davidson David Toews Brett Bruneteau Mike Cichy Brett Hextall Jason Gregoire Mario Lamoureux 2008 Defense (10): Taylor Chorney Joe Finley Zach Jones Chay Genoway Derrick LaPoint Jake Marto Ben Blood Corey Fienhage Joe Gleason Someone Else??? 2008 Goalies (3): Aaron Walski Landon Snider Brad Eidness Someone Else??? Possible or Likely Departures Include: [*]TJ Oshie - very likely [*]Taylor Chorney - very likely [*]Joe Finley - likely [*]Ryan Duncan - likely [*]Chris VandeVelde - very possible [*]Matt Watkins - very possible [*]Andrew Kozek - very possible [*]Landon Snider - chance (my guess is he stays with the team as a 3rd goaltender [*]Michael Forney - chance (I hope not because I thought he was outstanding in the last game he played, but he is not getting playing time so we will see) I'm guessing we end up with 15 - 17 forwards, 7 -8 D (with the possibility of another recruit), and 3 (goalies with the chance of another recruit).
  11. Count me in the crowd that believes that a big 10 conference will never happen, but I think that Illinois is one of the schools that could add and compete in hockey. I also think that there would be a possibility that the Big 12 could elevate their club programs as they have the resources to fund the scholarship. There are some very good fits in CO, MO, OK, and TX.
  12. I've seen Landman play a couple of times now, and I can't say I'm sold. A wait and see attitude may be very appropriate. I really think that if you have Landman's size, you better be a great skater, and I don't think he is. I hope to go see Nick Larson play in Waterloo sometime soon. I just think there are some better players for 09 still out there. In an unrelated note. SCCC has been going after players very early to give them an edge against the likes of UND and UMTC. With the exception of the very best of the best, there is a real risk with this that the players don't develop. I think SCCC burned themselves with Nick Oliver. I think he is a borderline WCHA player at best, and I am curious if SCCC is giving him a full scholarship offer. Conversely, I think Ravndalen was a very nice pickup for them.
  13. Best bet for the Sioux would be Bina. Great stats, story, and popularity. The only thing would be if people held the Judy's stuff against him (of which he was never guilty as it turns out).
  14. UND runs the table... UND 28 42 CC 28 42 Denver 28 36 MTech 28 27 UW 28 27 UMD 28 25 SCSU 28 25 UMN 28 23 Mankato 28 19 AA 28 14
  15. Last year at this time I was one of the first to say Duncan (before he got hot). This year I don't have that same feeling. Besides I think that unless things really change, its all about who gets to lose to Porter. Yup, its sad we are going to have to settle for a national title...
  16. Based on the stats, I can only assume this made him very angry...
  17. To be more realistic, I would give Denver two ties that would put us 4 back. Regardless, we just need to win out. (Yes, I am serious, that can happen, we have the talent).
  18. Helps him shoot straight.
  19. Very nice pickup for the Gophers, he will add some much needed grit and determination. I would have like to see him in Green, but we do have an embarrassment of riches. My prediction is that the Sioux pick up 1 more Blue Chip Defenseman and a goalie for 08, a Blue Chip Forward for 09, and then the 10 class will start to take shape. One of these days I need to do some serious wiki updating...
  20. Can't wait to get to Mankato State University of Minnesota State Mankato... 4 of us will be there....
  21. Try Immodium AD...
  22. Hmmmm. Can we make suggestions on who to "root ou"... I also notices that for the last couple of weeks I can say something controversial like, "Oshie will not be elevated to Saint status." without being call names, insulted, and having my support of UND, the players, or the team questioned. Maybe there is a separate issue with the Sioux self-righteous on this board...
  23. I noticed how poorly Chorney played against UNH and how well he played against Tech. Based on the change I would suspect that he did too...
  24. 14 points in 4 games. That is not to far from his average...
  25. Novotny committed to DU IIRC. I believe MacWilliam just had a visit so I could see that as a possibility. If we bring in another D-man for 08, I suspect that it will be of the bruising defensive variety.
