    Phil Kessel

great another fricken thread with kessel in it now can this please be the last time we talk about the one move wonder seriously...............it would have been great for college hockey especially the wcha if he would have stayed but oh well this helps the balance between underclassmen leaving between the sioux and the rodents... just between the 2 teams, check these names out...wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww stafford, smaby, spirko, parise, zajac kessel, chucko, irmen, potulny combined in 2005/06 these 8 position players (excluding parise) put up 133 goals, 177 assists for 310 points also add 3 assists to my total from the set up man himself jordan parise
  5. it was mentioned in the usa camp thread here, he is a lock to make the team so if there is a minor injury there is no reason to risk anything for the sioux season, neither of the johnsons even attended my thinking is that is it was very serious then it would be bigger news
  6. was that before or after they played shattuck
  7. hell, lets have all four of them play for the sioux..........
  8. st louis hf prospect rankings oshie #2 http://hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=8985 2. T.J. Oshie, C, 8.0 C Acquired: 1st Round, 24th Overall, 2005 Another American-trained player, T.J. Oshie sits second on the list of Blues prospects. Boasting a supreme offensive upside, the centerman is easily the most promising forward prospect. Oshie is very effective one-on-one thanks to his soft hands and quickness with the puck. A pure goal scorer, he is considered to have a good shot, and uses his snappy release to victimize opposing goaltenders. The Blues have suffered from a shortage of skilled forwards recently, but Oshie should help to remedy that problem once he graduates to the professional ranks. When the Blues took Oshie late in the first round there were some critics who felt he went too high, citing some holes in his game and his lack of experience against tough competition. But the young center may have silenced some of the doubters with a strong freshman campaign at the University of North Dakota. Oshie found the back of the net 24 times (nine game-winning goals) and added 21 assists for 45 points. That point total placed him second amongst Fighting Sioux scorers, and ranked second in all the NCAA amongst freshmen. Oshie needs to continue filling the net and better develop the non-offensive aspects of his game to fulfill his potential as a top-six forward in the NHL.
  9. just reading the new twist on the malkin story, very interesting how russia will not cooperate with the NHL...I sure hope he is heading here, it will only help the NHL the sooner it happens http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2548273 "We're all in shock," Gennady Velichkin said after Malkin, Pittsburgh's No. 1 pick in 2004, secretly fled Metallurg's training camp in Finland on Saturday just days after agreeing to a new contract with the club. "The players, coaching staff are also very upset because for four days Malkin was training with the team and suddenly he is gone without saying a word to anyone," he told Reuters in a telephone interview. "They all like to talk about democracy, the American way and then they shamelessly steal our best players. This is pure sports terrorism." (sorry, this statement is just a bit over the top) here is another good quote... "Don't forget, Malkin is a young kid, he is still very naive and it was easy for them to get into his head all that stuff about the American dream and how great the NHL is," he added.
