exactly, every team has one!
-
great hockey family. very athletic. easy to see where they got their skills from. mom and dad for sure. to bad only 1 of them will wear the green and white. i guess everyone has their own reasons and i will leave it at that.
-
a 3rd string goalie knows exaclty what his role is when joining the team as a walk on first off. at a top d-1 level, there will always be that 3rd string goalie who just likes to be part of the program knowing he will likely never see a minute of action. it all depends on the person/goalie. im sure there are many of these types that go to a lower division to start every night but every school has a emergency/3rd stringer so there obviously are guys who just dont care and except their role. do some move on after a couple years? sure they do. matye they get that erge to go play but some stick around as well. every college sport has these types. basketball has the 13th man on the bench who pulls a 4.2 GPA to level out the team and football has many many players that are pure practice players. walski is the backup now so if anything shall happen to grieco, then he's in if phil sure can't go....for now its grieco's team to back stop.
-
exaclty, just win 2/3 of your games in power conferences and you will be just fine. WIN WIN WIN and the rest will take care of itself, polls, schmolls
-
STOP with the stupid azz penalties and having the goalies taking shots like i was this last weekend at the bar ...grieco got 2 wins bottom line. now gear up for st cloud. cut half of the penalties and the goals against should go down by 2 hopefully that we give up. it was grieco's 1st career starts. he faced many shots and stopped many as well. did he give up a few softies? sure, did he shut msu out both nights, nope but he got great wcha road experience and now hes coming home so lets see what happens. also walski is a backup emergency/practice 3rd string goalie. 99% of these goalies will never see 1 minute of regular season game time so it is what it is. IN GRIECO WE TRUST, for now
-
once again, these polls dont mean crap even if we are #1 or #10, the pairwise is what counts when we get halfway through the season
-
Exactly, its not even a huge part of the game anymore. it is just there if need be. if a player wants to run another player and its dirty, he should expect to face the fists or simply dont do it. some players could care less if they get 2 or 4 minutes for a dirty penalty so if there is only 1 player on each team that may make them think twice then im all for it.

the over under on the 3rd blog rant being posted is 1 hour from now..... i will take the under and a new one is posted as a recap to the sweep they took. and get this, SHE HATES COACH JUTTING, man this lady needs a friend and a hug she hates everyone

back on topic............nodl for scsu, a native of austria seems like he is a hell of a player and may be a big time force in the wcha...he tore it up last season in the ushl for sioux falls with 29 goals and 30 assists. hes a 2nd round draft pick, 39th overall of the flyers in the 2006 draft. someone on the huskies to keep an eye on
-
darn, dont have one of those to give away, how about a game used matt jones signed sioux jersey
-
will see what i can do hell, you may as well pick out the prize too a dvd? a autograph? whatever you like............
-
and then i would have had fun reading
-
every team has some bad egg fans but geez, she has some other problems if she is this upset. take a couple somas and calm down.......
-
now that is some of the funniest sh#$ i have ever read. halarious
-
i will go with a sweep Friday, 5-3..........oshie 2 goals, genoway, toews and forney Saturday, 6-4.......duncan, toews (2), oshie, porter, lee if toews plays of course
-
i would guess if toews is back hak would sit bishop. i guess who really knows. it will probably depend on the weeks practice when it comes to fridays lineup. i like the way some of these younger less praised players are putting up some numbers. will be interesting on who sits because lately i have not seen much reason to sit any of them when they have ben in the lineup. makes for good practices i can only imagine with these guys battling for only 1 or 2 spots per week. hope the ones that end up sitting do not get frusterated with playing time though if it becomes a pattern because all these guys are very talented.
-
im going to guess and say toews is back and phil sits another week. just a pure guess though. lets let grieco defend some 5 on 5 hockey instead of letting him get peppered with shots on powerplays and see what happens. wins are wins especially on the road in the wcha. oshie will breakout this coming weekend
-
HAPPY HOLLOWEEN WEEK VS Nice to come home to The Ralph coming off a road WCHA sweep regardless of the scores. Bottom line is the Sioux took home 4 points. Yes we need to clean some things up like penalties but the powerplay got back on track BIG TIME which was very nice to see happen. Will the Sioux be able to solve another very good goalie? Grieco will likely get a couple more starts with Phil being out. Does Oshie bust out with some goals? Hopefully Toews will be back in the lineup. St Cloud will be a tough test at home coming off a bye week. The huskies have split with Minnesota State and Denver. The Sioux have played 8 games already compared to the Huskies 4 games. Lets keep the W's coming and try to cut back on the bad penalties. Final thought, lets work on those 2nd periods SIOUX Overall Record: 5-3-0 (.625) WCHA: 3-1-0, 6 points Home: 2-2-0
-
i think they will end up at minnesota or wisconsin and yes they are damn good, the olympics will be in their near future
-
thats a little overboard statement if you ask me. i think its fine to have fighting in order to protect the skilled players for the most part when oppenents are taking cheap shots or runs at them. hopefully if you have a player tough enough like a boogeyman or larauque on your team then the opposing players with think twice when making certain hits. here is my favorite fight in recent years http://webpages.charter.net/mthomas4671/PrpichFight.wmv
-
i think walski knows his role with the team. he is the 3rd goalie and a emergency goalie if need be. now he is the back up so you have to be ready no matter what because 1 little injury to grieco then walski is the man. you just never know. he is a solid walk on goalie that could probably drop divisions and get a shot to play every night but he obviously doesnt mind being the 3rd string here for now at least. we will see what happens after this season. but to be realistic he knew he probably would be 3rd string this year like last year so it is what it is.
-
if a good majority of the fights happen because the other team is taking runs at gaborik and company then each one of those fights is well worth it. each team needs someone to throw down at anytime or stars in the league will be getting blasted out there with no consequences. p.s. i wouldnt mess a with a guy almost 7 feet tall nicknamed the boogeyman
-
i agree that hak on playing grieco. not a stab at walski at all and he may be fine i the net but look around the nation and 99% of walk on goalies will not se a minute of regular season action. just reality. whoever we go with lets stop taking dumb azz penalties.
-
that was a very bad sitution and i think we would all agree on that but that doesnt seem to be the trend with players getting hurt like that. bertuzzi is a goon for sure. that was just a dumb azz idiot taking things to a level that should never be taken to.
