so are the gophes the only hockey team in the nation that rarely goes on non conference hockey trips? just wondering seriously as i cant imagine other programs do this as well. seems a bit strange overall not to go on 1 or 2 non conference trips a year out east or midwest. its not like they would have to do it 4 times a year. 1 or 2 good trips could do a wonder especially is its vs top teams.

just read the uscho explinations, that may help. doesnt mean this would happen with 2 months left in the season but theres a good chance if they can put 2 wcha teams in same regional it would prevent a columbus style f-4 when we had all 4 in there. i think scsu will sneak in as the 4th wcha team and they will be in a regional another wcha team. just keep winning sioux and msu winning will help a little with points as well if they stay as a TUC but with 8 other wcha teams in as TUCS right now thats a good thing

who wants to bet downie with the flyers wont be in the nhl for that long probably due to a suspension of some sort...he fought the nj guy as he was going to the bench. he didnt take his helmet off as he has a visor so he couldnt get hit. what a friken punk. every arena he goes to he will have a target on his back. cheap sob

yeah i mentioned that. when did this start or has it always been that way? just wondering. i think going and play the big boys on the road out of conference only wll make you stronger come tourney time on the road. i see the last big road series the gophers went to play was boston u in 2004-05 which is the last time they made the frozen 4..... 2002-03 went to UNH and won the title that season

what a embarrasing thing to read, wow. i always wondered why the gophs never go out east to take on bc, unh ect..or michigan or much st in their barns and im not talking about tourneys. this sums a lot of questions up for me why gophers neevr go play non wcha games anywhere. its always tourneys at the X or mariucci tourneys when they play michigan or bc or the tourney in michigan some years. what a joke.

i say they just miss out on home ice and go to duluth or scsu for playoffs

help them out like the only time they went there to play was when matt demarchi played for minny and they played there for him pretty much and made a event out of it and who cares who bemidji would open their arena up with. just build the damn thing first

it will be very tough because we will have 4 more games played than them after this coming weekend we can possibly be up 2 points max, it can happen for sure. just cant have any bad losses along the way. if we can keep the roll up til denver comes to the ralph then that will be the deries that may make or break 2nd place. first things first, the sourdoughs are next thanks to diggler on that old nickname for the seawolves at least flickertales was better than sourdoughs

you only can pick a player once during the same game as long as that 1 game goes so you have to pick them wisely, thats why a dark horsoe pick can move you along nicely if thyat happens like last week with genoway and bina

you will have to drop some dough through ebay or craiglist but thats worth it if you can rtather than waiting outside til gametime and buying on the streets. this year i have seen way more tickets on ebay that usual for the sioux/gopher series. hope the sioux fans gobble them all up. cant beat a win or 2 in mariucci to see in person. fun times.

yeah i knew they were different brand with the same look. they had the reebok edge style on which is almost the same as the nike swift.

yeah, im not counting on those to be a TUC in the end. every other wcha team will be though which is nice if they just keep winnng a few and losing a few.

sidney crosby will miss the all star game. he is on the IR with a injured right ankle. not good for the nhl with the kid being the face. bummer for the game. im assuming malkin will be added to the east team as he and parise are the top candidates. too bad for crosby and the all star weekend, not that many will watch anyways

i will take that trade in a heartbeat now if we can somehow manage not to knock eachother off the top 4 down the road which i dont see happening with the final 5 tourney, und playing du and du playing cc, we can pull three #1 seeds preventing the ncaa in grouping those 3 wcha teams in same regional

because they havent decided to do all unis that style yet.black only for now then maybe down the road. mankato has a swift style from their jersey makers. not as slim as the sioux swifts though. im sure it has to do with what the players like overall

uscho likes what the sioux are doing, up to 4th uscho tied for 5th in pairwise is the one that counts. keep winning and that will get even better with a combo of other teams losses. 3 wcha teams would be in if it ended today. cc,du and und. scsu,uw,um and umd are the last 4 out but they are also not that close to being in either. they would need a sweep to bump themselves up a bit to getting those last couple spots and then more wins after that. the sioux have played 6 of the top 11 pairwise teams. having wins over 5 of the 6. the 6th being BC and the great ol fogout tie. pairiwse wcha standings 1 Colorado College 30 2 Denver 24 3 North Dakota 22 4 Minnesota-Duluth 17 5 Minnesota 14 St. Cloud State 14 Wisconsin 14 8 Michigan Tech 11 9 Minnesota State 10 10 Alaska-Anchorage 8 we can gain 4 more points on DU this next weekend as they have a bye BUT they will also have 4 less wcha games played so a potential of 8 points to gain on us. so a sweep this weekend is a must as we know. like mentioned before, take care of your own games and points possible and in the last 2 weekends you see if there is a chance at climbing another spot in the wcha standings.

nope, afetrnoon games i believe for some reason and they are saturday/sunday games, cant remember and the week before our home games vs bemidji state are at 3:37 each day on saturday/sunday sioux schedule

and i think the spacious room he had was because of a future nhl all all star in jon toews. having oshie and toews next to you has gotta be a dream position and duncan has the skills to bury is chances when available. i hope we continue to see kozek up there for the uaa series. i dont think duncan or oshie are struggling at all. their numbers arer probably down 10 points where people think they should be but if the wins keep coming then thats fine as they do much more than score points. i still think the will both open their scoring totals up a bit coming up vs uaa and minny with kozek as well
