hf top 10 college hockey free agents Chay Genoway, D, 23 Senior, University of North Dakota Genoway got his final year at North Dakota off to a terrific start, but it would all come to a halt on Nov. 13. when a hit by Aaron Marvin (CGY) forced Genoway out of the lineup indefinitely. The Morden, MB native played in nine games to date and posted 10 points (four goals, six assists). All of his goals came on the power play. Genoway is an offensive defenseman with great hands and on-ice presence. He is a fluid skater with good speed. He quarterbacks the power play with confidence and his puck skills are outstanding. What Genoway lacks in size (5

3 years as do most solid d men at UND with a realistic pro/nhl future. hes ahead of some very dood d men we have seen come through in grand forks and the upside to this guy is awesome! he and blood are a great duo when paired.
-
very cool, nice to see this happening as a give away!
-
whatever man, its for fun and at least the sioux fans and community do this. without most students it will be a bit togher but hope fans get the message. hell the gophers cant even get people to fill the john let alone try and get people to to have fun and do a whte out. wear white sioux fans! its gotten better everytime they have done this and thats a good sign. wear white and sweep those gophs

Another season has passed as we head into the playoffs. I see Brad Schlossman has his picks out so we can start with those... http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ First team F -- Blake Geoffrion, Wisconsin F -- Rhett Rakhshani, Denver F -- Jack Connolly, Duluth D -- Brendan Smith, Wisconsin D -- Ryan McDonagh, Wisconsin G -- Marc Cheverie, Denver Comments: Geoffrion, Rakhshani, Smith and Cheverie are locks. Went with JConnolly over the other Dogs because of his all-around play. McDonagh is NHL ready and his +19 is ridiculous. Second team F -- Justin Fontaine, Duluth F -- Derek Stepan, Wisconsin F -- Tyler Ruegsegger, Denver D -- Patrick Wiercioch, Denver D -- Nate Prosser, Colorado College G -- Brad Eidsness, North Dakota Comments: Fontaine also makes that UMD offense go. Went with Stepan over Davies because I think he's the better all-around player. Ruegsegger also is a well-rounded player who plays in all situations. Wiercioch and Prosser put up the numbers and Eidsness' numbers justify his second straight all-WCHA selection. Third team F -- Chris VandeVelde, North Dakota F -- Brett Olson, Michigan Tech F -- Ryan Lasch, St. Cloud State D -- Gabe Guentzel, Colorado College D -- Jake Marto, North Dakota G -- Alex Kangas, Minnesota Comments: VandeVelde and Olson are not only their teams' top scorers, they also are very good faceoff guys and all-around players. Lasch again put up good numbers. Marto was the most consistent D-man on the country's third-best defensive team. Omissions: The guy I had the most trouble leaving off was Joe Colborne. He deserves a spot. Kevin Clark, Mike Connolly, Michael Davies, Jason Gregoire and Bill Sweatt also were factors. Mike Montgomery was very good when UND was in Duluth, but I didn't notice him as much in GF. Rookie team F -- Danny Kristo, North Dakota F -- Craig Smith, Wisconsin F -- Tyler Pitlick, MSU-Mankato D -- Matt Donovan, Denver D -- Nick Leddy, Minnesota G -- Joe Howe, Colorado College

per brad http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ Sens sign Lee Former UND defenseman Brian Lee has signed a two-year contract with the Ottawa Senators, keeping him with the team that has held his rights since draft day 2005. Lee was set to become a restricted free agent in July. "It feels great," he said about his second contract. "Now, I don't have to worry about anything but having fun, working hard and playing hockey. . . It takes some of the pressure off." Lee has played 18 games with the Sens this season and 31 in Binghamton (AHL). He's currently up with the big club. "I think I belong here and I think I belonged here all season," he said. "It was just tough circumstances -- I was kind of the odd man out -- but this means I just get to worry about playing hockey. I don't have to worry about those outside circumstances anymore."
