    High sticking

The only complaining about Vanek was that he took a cheap shot. Others started coming on to say how good he is. If you guys don't like hearing it, go elsewhere. This isn't vaneksports.com. We don't care how many shg's,ppg's, or anything else that he has.

So what does that have to do with Parise?

Mike Prpich has a shorthanded goal. Does that mean that Vanek isn't any better than him? Lundbohm and bochenski each have 2. Does that mean they're better??

A defensive breakdown is the only thing that worked against them on that play. Go back and look at the 5 or 10 seconds before that. Vanek lost the puck and gave up on the play. That is the point that was being made earlier. Vanek didn't make the effort to stop Brandon and he had every opportunity to do so. He was too busy trying to tie Zach up and then let him go so you had Brandon and Zach alone in front of Briggs. Not to mention #24 (Koalska?) stood and watched the whole thing.

Regarding point 2, Zach doesn't dive. Ballard had both arms around Zach's head. If you had followed the Sioux all year you'd know that Zach doesn't dive and doesn't fall. In the Fri. game here against UAA, Zach was hooked down 3 times before the penalty was called and then it was only called because he took a stick to the throat. And as far as Ballard being such a good defenseman, how come he got beat by someone who supposedly can't skate worth a crap??? To quote Beavis and Butthead(Frank and Doug) "(Frank)...and Ballard has to be careful Bochenski beats him badly back hand and a goal!! (Doug)HO HO!!! (Frank)Brandon Bochenski to tie on a shorthanded goal! (Doug)And he beats Minnesota's best! If Ballard's so good how come he let Brandon move to the inside. Ballard was about 3 feet of the boards if he'd made him go wide he could've shut him down.
  6. I don't think that I could make a choice between the two and not wonder if I made the right one. Brandon has played much better this year. He is making a lot more plays which has something to do with the scoring lag. He was really on a tear when Zach was gone and his first few games back. Some of that had to do with Genoway and Porter. When Dean moved Colby to Zach's line, Zach started tearing up the score chart. Zach has really come on down the home stretch. Had he played all year like he has the las 8-10 games I might feel better giving the nod to him. I think that Brandon(even though his goals have been down lately) has been more consistent throughout the year and stepped up when they really needed him. I also think that there are a lot of overlooked players on the team. They all have contributed but only a few recieve the recognition. Brandon gets a lot of goals set up by Zach and Zach gets a lot of assists on Brandon's goals(even one that he shouldn't have had but I'm glad he got it anyway).
  7. How about this for a separated at birth sign??? Master Blaster from beyond thunderdome and Pittis/Scott.
  8. Some things to look at when comparing this year to last year. Matti Kaltiainen 68 goals allowed last year 54 this year. Al Montoya 99 last year 74 this year Brandon is tied for first in points. Everyone is scoring less this year. Take away his couple of slumps he was way out in front. He has also become much more of a team player. He will more often set someone up than not. If you watch him close, a lot of his shots the last few games have been right into the pads of the goalie, which causes rebounds. I have a hard time believing that someone who can shoot as accurate and consistent as him(Fri. anchorage game) is having a hard time scoring.

how about a not rated chant?
  10. As a dad with two young boys, I don't have any problems taking my kids to hockey games. I am aware of the language and don't have any problems with it mainly because my kids are there to watch the game. I don't think that they have ever even noticed it. I will continue to take my kids there regardless of he language. I would prefer that there wasn't swearing around them but I also can't shelter them from everything either. How will they ever grow??? If it comes down to having to be as quiet as the crowd was last Sat., I will not be going to any more games. We go for the atmosphere not to just sit there. If we want to be quiet we can stay home and save $100.

    Goalie Meltdown

I'd have to agree that the caoching staff needs to take some of the blame too. I watched it on FSSN and it looked like the Sioux had their line changes staggered. I don't remember seeing Brandon until the second round of line changes, and then he was out with Hale and Lundbohm. The next time he was out with Parise and Stafford. Later in that shift he was with Porter and Genoway. It looked like they would start making plays and then 1 or 2 would change. I don't know how they ever got going but I think that that's what hurt them.
