  1. Thanks. Yeah yesterday right after I posted that I saw that transponder info when it brought me back. I'll see if I can find that today.
  2. Is there anything else there? I think I found it but when I search I just come up with about 160 channels listed as no name.
  3. I fail to see how the D stepped up by allowing 28 shots on goal. They have played very good in front of both goalies lately but Phil deserves all the credit for the shut out.
  4. I think he had 94 for his second one. Matt Frattin did 96. I would like to see how fast Kozek would've been if he'd kept them near the ice. His first one went just under the crossbar and they say you get a faster reading the lower you keep the shot. I looked to me like Kozek's 92 was as fast as Frattin's 96 (couple inches off the ice). Either way those were NHL type shots.
  5. Sorry it toook so long to find it. My daughter rearranged my dvd's for me. I found it and know exactly where it's at on the dvd but don't have any wasy to post it. If someone would like to post it or make copies(my dvd recorder puked), just let me know and we'll figure out a time to get it to you.
  6. I think that was during the championship game. If it is, I've got it on dvd. Give me a couple of days and I'll try to find it.
  7. I think that Phil has played at the same level. In the last 4 games, there have been more goals scored against Phil that he didn't see than ones that he did see. You do make the point that we need better defence in front of him(don't screen your own goalie, let the goalie make the saves, keep feet and sticks out of the way). Phil is entirely capable of stopping a shot from the point as long as he can see it so why does everyone feel the need to try to block it??? No goalie can stop a puck he can't see not even Brodeur. Part of what makes Elliot look so good is the system he plays in. We had so many shots in all four games against him this year that went right into his chest. That's the d-men taking the good shooting lanes away. That's what we did when in the four games after the first of the year. Phil was about 1.25 gaa and 94% in those games. When we got back to trying to block shots, the last four games he's down to 3.25 gaa and 88%. If you take away the two goals that really stand out (off of Fabian's skate and Lee's stick) his numbers in the last four change to 2.5 gaa and 90%. That's about where we need him to be. There were other goals in the last four that I don't think were his fault but they were debateable. These two aren't and you can really see the difference in the numbers. Not to mention one point closer to moving up from 5th place.

    Pulling Grieco

Like I said in my previous post, he still feels it. He didn't say hurt. I don't know him or anyone on the team personally. I'm just speaking from my experience with this injury and what I heard on the radio broadcast. As far as resting it, the more you baby it the longer it's going to take to heal. General exercise and/or physical therapy aren't the same as playing. You can't replicate the same movements. Recovery from this will hurt, you will feel it, and it will take time. My point was that people have all but called for his head without knowing what he was going through.

    Pulling Grieco

That's his decision to make. I just know how hard that injury is to deal with. I can do most everything now but I never did regain full range of motion.

    Pulling Grieco

I agree that Walski should be given a chance but not for the same reason. Our goalie have not been as bad as everyone says. Grieco biggest problem is inexperience. He hasn't had much playing time at this level. He will get better at controlling rebounds as he plays more. It just takes time people. The ones that have been ripping on Phil should probably get the whole story first. He was on the pre-game show Fri and said his ankle still bothers him. He can tolerate it but he still feels it. It was said a few games ago that he had a grade 2 high ankle sprain. I had a similar sprain(same spot but mine was a grade 3) 4 yrs ago. I was still limping 2 months after and couldn't walk down a ramp 4 months later. I would say he has done extremely well considering. A Grade II (Second Degree) injury is more severe and indicates that the ligament has been more significantly damaged, but there is no significant instability. The ligaments are often partially torn.
  11. Kaip maybe won't put up more than a couple goals a year but he is one of the better passers on the team.
  12. It's getting real hard to listen to all the complaint's about our goaltending. Goalies don't score goals. If you're not scoring goals you're going to lose. Several people have commented on how Jordan was so much better. If you look at his #'s from last year, 8 losses the team averaged 2.1 goals per game. In 17 wins, they averaged 4.76 goals per game. Phil this year in 5 wins they averaged 4.6 goals per game and in his 7 losses they averaged 1.57 goals per game. Am I the only one who sees a trend here???

    Goalie

I'm getting real tired of people questioning Phil's ability. He has had maybe 2 bad games that I can think of. He has played very good but hasn't gotten consistent puck support. The streakiness has more to do with the team in front of him than with him. The last 2 years we've had trouble scoring consistently and it just happened to be when Phil was in net. Here's some examples. 11/12/04 1 goal on 36 shots 97.2% 01/14/05 2 goals on 30 shots 93.3% 01/15/05 1 goal on 14 shots 92.9% 03/18/05 2 goals on 32 shots 93.8% 12/29/05 1 goal on 21 shots 95.2% 01/27/06 2 goals on 25 shots 92% six games, six losses, 94.03 save %, 9 goals against roughly 1.5 GAA There should be no way in he** for a goalie to put up those kind of numbers and lose.

    Nick Fuher

We didn't go into great detail about the injury. He seemed to be more interested in how my 10 yr old was doing this summer. He was wearing glasses and like I said has been invited back. He didn't offer much more and I didn't ask.

    Nick Fuher

I just ran into Nick. He said things are going good and he's been asked to attend the rookie camp this summer in Phoenix.
  16. I just found this on Toronto's site. Leafs Fall to Sens In Preseason Opener September 18, 2005 TORONTO (CP) _ Brandon Bochenski is being given every chance to make the Senators and the former North Dakota star took advantage of it in his first pre-season game Sunday night, scoring a goal and adding an assist as Ottawa beat Toronto 5-2. Bochenski, 23, was noticeable, looking dangerous on a line with Spezza and Dany Heatley. The line was in on three goals and spent most of the night in Toronto's zone. Bochenski, who had 70 points (34-36) in 75 AHL games last season, appears ready to make the jump. ``He's a natural goal-scorer,'' Sens GM John Muckler said between periods. ``He's scored at every level he's played at. (Head coach) Bryan (Murray) is giving him a real chance to show what he can do.'' The biggest knock on the six-foot, 180-pounder is his skating, but he makes up for that with great positioning and good anticipation. ``He's real smart player, he reads the play well,'' Muckler said. Bochenski tied the game 2-2 at 10:32 of the second period, snapping a wrist shot from the slot over Mikael Tellqvist's right shoulder. Alfredsson then scored the winner at 12:03, blasting a slapshot to the top left corner and popping the water bottle off the top of the net behind J.S. Aubin.
  17. I ran into his mom in the store the Friday. I guess he's going to have another surgery tomorrow, a retina replacement in Oct., and a lens replacement in Apr.
  18. I just got back from the fan appreciation event at the Ralph. They annouced there that Colby Genoway did go to join the Hartford Wolf Pack and that Nick Fuher would be joining the Utah Grizzlies. I also spoke with Jake Brandt and he's kind of undecided on what's next for him. He said that playing here before these fans in this arena couldn't be matched anywhere else.

    Ziggy

I just feel that Jake deserves more credit than he got. 3(or 4) goals in that game might have been his fault but Minn. was playing pretty good at that time also. Adam Coole was a pretty good goalie and they lit him up for 8 goals in about 90 min. Given that fact, Jake fared pretty good if you ask me.

Brandt didn't blow the final five game. It's been a bit since I watched the(packed away) but I can think of at least two goals that there wasn't much he could've done anything about. Most importantly the game winner. Potulny was allowed to come out from behind the net with the puck. Same thing happened to Belfour against Ottawa in the play offs. He couldn't stop it either. He has had a hard time being consistent but he also hasn't been given the same chance as Jordan has. When Jake let in 3 goals in the Fri. game here against the Bulldogs,he was pulled at the end of the first. When Jordan let in three in the first three minutes(@ St.Cloud), he was allowed to stay. All I'm saying is that if given the opportunities(lettting him work through it like Jordan did), He might not have been another Karl but would have been a damn good goalie. I think Jordan will turn out to be an excellent goalie also. Jake hasn't always been very steady but from what I saw this last year, he was the better of the two. Toward the end of the year it got closer and closer. To be consistent you need confidence. To be confident you need to be believed in. How can you expect him to be confident when he gets ripped for nearly every loss???

    Ziggy

As far as I can remember Brandt only had one bad game. A couple he might have been off a little bit but he was still solid. Jake didn't get the start against Denver because of the loss to Minnesota in the Final Five in my opinion. The Final Five loss wasn't his fault. Same thing happened to Toronto in the playoffs. When Belfour had defensive back up they couldn't score on him. When they let him down he was lit up like a christmas tree. Same thing happened to Jake. Does this mean that Kidd ought to be the starter for Toronto next year. I'm not knocking Jordan. He improved all year long but I still think Jake is #1. He didn't win the WCHA for the Sioux, the Sioux did.
  22. Losing Brandon will hurt but if you look at the stats for last year, taking out what both Zach and Brandon scored the Sioux still outscored their opponents 142 to 90. There are plenty of very good players left without them. They just don't get the attention they would/should.
  23. vjr

    No Excuses

The problem wasn't so much that the Sioux played bad. They weren't at their best but they did outplay Denver. After getting stomped in the first three games Denver finally found something that worked. Keep icing the puck, grabbing and some holding. Normally it wouldn't be a problem for them but in the thin air they wore down. They maybe didn't find the back of the net but it sure wasn't from lack of trying so I don't think that it's fair to call them chokers.
  24. Just heard on WDAZ that the games will be televised locally. They didn't have all the details and would know more tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!

    High sticking

Home ice advantage refers to playing in your home town. Just like Denver could be said to have a home ice advantage this weekend. As far as drafting goes, Brandon was chosen 226th? overall. Does that mean he's no good or that Vanek is better than him?? How come brandon has outscored him?
