Everything that happened after clinching the Penrose. Is that precise enough for you?
And I say "disasterous" is a mischaracterization of "post-Penrose". We had a team slump at the worst time + goalie illness + a Pyke injury. Disaster? No. Misfortunate? Quite.
I've defined what I'd call disasterous: A disasterous March would've been losing to WMU (1, 2) then UNO (8, 9), then swept by Miami (15, 16), thus missing the Frozen Faceoff and likely falling out of the NCAAs.

Denver is everywhere. That's the problem.

But I don't think pointing out that March was a disaster for this team is out of line. Because it is true.
You're definition of "disaster" is interesting.

Blake is signing with Carolina. Berg is staying for another year. Wilkie visit seemed to go okay, I'm guessing he will be making a decision today sometime.
Well heck, tomorrow's winning PowerBall numbers too please.

So, how does the NIL work in regards to recruiting for someone like Wood or Pohlkamp? Obviously the coaches would have to let the collective know who they are interested in, so is it then up to the collective to offer the athlete, or do they then work through the coaches?
"The 1883 Collective is a third-party college athletics collective tailored for UND athletes, aiming to provide name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities and foster community service initiatives. Although it supports UND student athletes, it maintains no direct affiliation with the University of North Dakota."

That's all he has left for eligibility.

Certainly didn't hurt that Pohlkamp has already played for Carle this season too.
True.
Heil played on a US team with KG as an assistant last summer and we landed Heil shortly after. Same thing only different.
The key: Our coaches need to be out there on those select staffs. But we only have one American coach (KG) and Canadian teams tend to not pick US collegiate coaches (even Canadian ones).

Safe to say there’d be 34,000 at a regional in GF? Still a rule that it can’t be at home rinks? Hence Fargo at Schees vs in gf right?
It's two "sessions" not three "games" so more like 23,000.

How accurate is this? No BC, No BU, No DU ...
You just named 1-2-3 in 2023. Different needs in 2024 for them.

If you can backpedal like that you should call Bubba and play DB for him.

It may seem like Sic is just a slug from where we sit, but who's to say he doesn't have goals, just like the rest of us.

... but who would be ready to leave early after next year? I wouldn't expect anyone.
I could see Zmolek and Livanavage as summer 2025 risks. And maybe another (demographic: low minutes soph D, say Komzak).

Charlotte is Florida’s affiliate.
But weren't they CAR's not long ago?

If he signs with Carolina and doesn't make the team he could end up playing for 1 or a combination of these places next season.
Colorado, springfield, Chicago, Wilkes-Barre or Norfolk. Carolina does not have an AHL or ECHL affiliate.
No more Charlotte? When'd that happen?
No A or ECHL affiliate ... 'frugal' ...

If Blake plays at UND next season he would become a free agent Aug 2025
The word you're looking for is: leverage.
He should tell CAR "rookie max, everything" or nothing.
CAR going $916k per for Morrow and SJS giving Graf $950k per tells me CAR's reputation as "frugal" (the nice word) may be accurate.

Collin Graf (Q, now SJS) got a bigger ELC than Scott Morrow (UMass, now CAR).
Does CAR try to low-ball and Morrow bit?
Very interesting ...https://www.capfriendly.com/players/collin-graf

I'm sort of serious when I say, the coaches realizing what Schmaltz is and pulling him from the PP and making him 4C might be the most important off-season move that can happen.
So you see a "Peter Armbrust" role in his future.

Perron will progress.
Schmaltz can't have back-to-back stinker years, can he?
Boisvert and Swanson are ready to step in.And Bubs pulled a couple rabbits out of his hat last year about this time.

If Blake is gone, keep scrubbing the portal as there's an unexpected hole in the roster.

I would not trade Strathmann, Boisvert, and Swanson for Pohlkamp plus 2 current DU recruits.
Now make me the General Manager and Senior VP and Managing Partner of UND Mens Hockey.
