I believe they were doing some comparison of football-only revenue vs expenses within the MVFC. Some of the schools, including SIU, reported some significant deficits (which, I presume at SIU, is covered by basketball income). I was really suprised to see how athletic budgets at the FCS level seem to have skyrocketed.
