From the Winnipeg Sun:

Blackhawks can wait

Star's focus still on UND

His not-so-distant future may be with the Chicago Blackhawks, but Jonathan Toews wants to take care of some unfinished business at the University of North Dakota before jumping to the pro hockey ranks.

There is plenty of speculation Toews, a Winnipegger who has won consecutive gold medals for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship, will sign an entry-level contract and join the Blackhawks, who drafted him third overall this past summer, at the end of his NCAA season.

But Toews is focused on trying to help the Fighting Sioux get back to the Frozen Four before he decides whether or not it's time to move to the next level.

"It's one of the things I'm trying not to think about," Toews said last night before he was honoured prior to the American Hockey League game between the Manitoba Moose and Chicago Wolves.
