Sioux-cia Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...0c96600553d743f Does anyone know if these kids are taking donations? I have some furniture I don't use in my garage that they can have; love seat, chairs, computer desk, and blankets and stuff. They're obviously not new but they are useable (that's why I haven't gotten rid of it). Quote
PCM Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I shot some pictures of this fire because it's not far from where I live. At first, it just looked like a smokey fire that would be contained. But it continued to grow worse and worse as time went by. I'm sure the strong wind didn't help. It's fortunate that everyone got out okay. In light of the situation, the fire department did an excellent job of keeping the fire away from nearby homes and garages. Quote
Sioux-cia Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Great pictures PCM. Let me know if there's any sort of 'help' drive for those poor kids. Bad time, finals, Christmas, etc. Quote

PCM Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Last night on WDAZ news, it was reported that funds were being set up by UND students to a couple of the people who lost everything in the fire. Unfortunately, few details were reported and there's even less in today's Herald. Quote
ScottM Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Kids/students, Renters Insurance may not seem like a big deal, but it's generally pretty cheap (probably less than you spend on beer in a month ), and can help cover things like this, and then some. Anyway, glad nobody was hurt, but it still sucks to be out in the cold this time of year. Good luck to them. Quote
rochsioux Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 The only thing I have seen was on the wdaz webcast: Fire Victim Fund John Reichenberg Alerus Financial I think they said this was set up by his friends. I am not sure how many people were impacted by the fire but I think this fund is only for this one person. Quote

They mentioned funds for one or two other people on the 10 p.m. news, but gave no details on how to contribute. Quote
