govikes27 Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 The idea of DII-A and DII-AA might work if they are enough schools that would support the upper division. I'm not sure about the regional stuff though. Quote
BIGSIOUX Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 For those interested: There is an extensive discussion of this on D2football.com, thread name 2 championships. Quote
redwing77 Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I think this is great! Next we'll give trophies for just making the tourney in the first place. And since every team will make the tourney, everyone gets a trophy so EVERYONE is a winner! And besides, it's not winning or losing that counts, it's how many ribbons and stickers you can get in your collegiate career! Please. There are going to be winners and losers anywhere you look. If you can't handle that, then I HIGHLY suggest you drop out of competitive activities. Quote
jimdahl Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 The split might have made sense as a stop-loss 25 years ago. Had scholarship reduction been stopped and II-A kept full scholarships, there might not have been the long slow bleed from D-II into DI-AA. The DII-A powers probably wouldn't have been so concerned about the watering down of II-AA. Now, however, it's just a finger in the dam that has already let most of the water through. Frankly, it's even a further watering down of D-II (taking part of the playoff bracket away from the best D-II teams and giving it to lower scholarship teams). Quote
