JESUS,family, rutgers
Would most of you be in favor of not having any players participate in amateur tournaments during the season or perhaps a limit of one player per college? I just can't imagine UConn,North Carolina,Kentucky, etc. giving up a bunch of their players during college basketball season like North Dakota has done for hockey. Hang in there Fighting Sioux fans. Have a great New Year. GO NORTH DAKOTA! GO RUTGERS!

Have a great New Year. GO NORTH DAKOTA! GO RUTGERS! For a prestigious tournament like the WJC's, it's a great opportunity for the players. No one likes to give up talented players for something like this, but it's too great of an opportunity for the players to hold them back. Better to recruit the best kids, and let them play if they are selected. It's a feather in the cap of the program that your players are selected for the WJ team, even if it creates a bit of a hardship.

Sioux-per Villain
Last night's loss had absolutely nothing to do with the WJT. We still had several NHL draft choices along with a few # ones on the ice last night and couldn't even score a goal. WTF? You can't blame it on the defense or goaltending either as they played a pretty good. There's plenty of excuses we can come up with but having players gone for the WJT is not one of them. Earlier in the year people were using the excuse that we have too many freshman and it'll take time for them to adjust to the speed and grind of the WCHA. Now the reverse is true? Pity we have to rely on our freshman to prevent getting shut-out in our building against an ECACHL team. Hakstol needs to right the ship immediately and start getting the most out of all this NHL drafted talent.
redwing77
JFR, you make a point but I agree with dagies and it is a related premise (dagies' is) that has the all star game in the NHL cancelled this year so that the NHL players who are named to the Olympic teams can play for their countries. HOWEVER, it may cause a little stress to the team if the team must play in the absence of any of its players whether it be injury or international competition. But nothing like what has happened to University of Alaska Fairbanks. They lost their leading scorer to the pros a few days ago. He isn't coming back. At least Lee, Chorney, Oshie, and Toews will be back.
