Yttrium
Oshie To St. Louis: Wow! UND w/ 3 first rounders and 6 total so far drafted. Congrat's to Brian, TJ and Joe for all getting drafted in the first round. Who says dreams don't come true. The Fighting Sioux will have a very gifted, talented and aspiring freshmen class this season. With Lee, Oshie, Chorney and Jones attending the USA Hockey World Jr. Camp next week in Lake Placid we could see several players representing the US colors this December / January in Vancouver, BC. Minnesota has been and will continue to be the hotbed of skilled hockey players. Playing HS hockey has proven after all a great choice for kids like Oshie, Lee and Vandy. THETRIOUXPER
Don't everybodt get excited now, just funnin' around with ya. However, no one expected Wheeler at #5 last year so as we all know anything can happen. Once again what we all think means squat when it comes down to it, we can only hope and specualte, but it's still fun.
jk
Why St. Louis took Oshie where they did, from the Edmonton paper: The Oilers had hoped to deal with the New York Islanders to move up to the 15th overall pick, so they could take Toronto Marlies centre Ryan O'Marra. After that failed to materialize, they bided their time, feeling they would land Warroad, Minn., centre T. J. Oshie, another speedster, with the 25th pick. But the Blues took Oshie with the 24th pick.

jk
http://www.stlouisblues.com/columnists/lw_home.html A little more press from St. Louis. "He scored a goal in every game I saw him play and created scoring opportunities on almost every shift," Kekalainen said. "But what stands out most is he gets involved. Despite his size, he really competes and likes to hit and loves to score or set up a teammate.
redwing77
I find it interesting that St. Louis has had to defend Oshie's selection. If they didn't select him, Edmonton would have. It seems to me that Oshie would have gone in the first round regardless of what the critics said.
