ESPNInsider Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Looks like we will be able to spend more money at the bar and creep out more chicks even longer! http://www.in-forum.com/articles/index.cfm...94§ion=news Quote
ScottM Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Meh. Around here, the bars close at 3:00 am, and you can buy offsale in grocery stores and other retail joints with none of those stupid 8:00 and 10:00 pm closings like Minnesota has. Welcome to the 20th century, North Dakota. Quote
ESPNInsider Posted March 17, 2005 Author Posted March 17, 2005 Well in Mn u can't buy off-sale in the evening even! or on Sundays. How the hell is a guy supposed to drink when you can't buy after 8?? Quote
airmail Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 I'm glad this is happening now... and not while I was in school. That extra hour would've been very bad on more than one occasion. Now I'm in bed by 10:00 anyway. Quote

mksioux Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 The state legislation merely authorizes cities to extend their bar closing until 2a.m. Each city still has to pass an ordinance to actually extend the closing time. Fargo will do it as soon as the legislation becomes effective (Aug. 1) because of stiff competition from Moorhead bars (which close at 2a.m.). East Grand Forks still closes at 1a.m. so Grand Forks does not face immedaite pressure, so i doubt they will extend it anytime soon. Quote
