JESUS,family, rutgers
On the fightingsioux.com website, the players class is listed but it does not mention if this is their academic year or athletic elig. year. Does anyone know what one it is? Does North Dakota redshirt many players. Thanks.

None of the current players have redshirted. It is more common to get a medical redshirt, but none of the current players have done this. Fylling took a year off to play in the USHL after his freshman year, so his freshman year was 5 years ago, but he is still only in his fourth year of school. sprig
Thanks for the info. jloos. I assume the ushl is not a pro league. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The USHL is a tier 1 junior league (under 20), considered the top junior league in the US. Many D1 recruits come from this league. redwing77
I think I misheard Hannan when he was announcing Sioux players parents. Towards the end of the announcing, he said something of a forward #7. I know that Bo isn't a member of the Sioux anymore and I can't find any mention of walk ons on the roster. Is #7 Moreland's number?

Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> College hockey has a maximum of 18 full-ride equivalent scholarships, and with 19-20 guys seeing significant game action every night, teams can't afford to offer a ride to a redshirt. It is permissible, just hasn't happened since the limit was lowered from 25 to 20 and then 18 ... I don't remember the exact years, but its been at least 15 years with 18.
