Greyeagle Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 FYI - Ryan Potulny is in MN's lineup this afternoon. Quote
Carl Spackler Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 FYI - Ryan Potulny is in MN's lineup this afternoon. Who is sitting? Quote
Greyeagle Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Waibel's back in too. My guess is MacKinnon & Reinholz sit today. Quote
Carl Spackler Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Last night it looked like the Gophers out gassed the Huskies.....I see a real lopsided affair today! Gophs 6 SCSU 1 SCSU is not the team they were in November!!! Quote
Greyeagle Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Two other lineup changes for MN: Vanelli & Martin (he's a SR) in for Atherton & Taylor. Quote
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 I think SCCC is going to take the Swooner's Cup this year...again. Quote
Smoggy Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 FYI - Ryan Potulny is in MN's lineup this afternoon. I'm a little surprised by this. How many games did he play this year? Eight? It's almost like he figured there'd be no way he'd stick around for that extra year, and therefore, didn't take the medical redshirt. What's the Gopher fans feelings on this? Quote
Greyeagle Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 From what they said on the pregame, the decision was made by Ryan and his family and the coaches were supportive of whatever decision was made. Who can blame a kid for wanting to get back in the action? I'm happy to have him back if this is what he wants....plus we need his presence in the lineup. Quote
sagard Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Scoring! Number 16 His first collegiate goal! RYAN! Quote
Greyeagle Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Scoring! Number 16 His first collegiate goal! RYAN! What a great coaching move! I could not be happier for him. Quote
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 3-1 Gophers Wow...Coole just pushed the net off. There were no Minnesota players around. He just fell backwards into the post. Minny PP Quote
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Ianazzo 3-2 2:00 to go in the 2nd Ballard's stick fell apart...I think it made a difference. Quote
Smoggy Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 SCSU's defense in the neutral zone is terrible. I believe the Gophers had four break-a-ways that period. The Riddle one was an especially bad play by the d men. I liked the Bruce McCloud interview. He said that the Xcel is only signed for two more years, but the arena keeps bugging him to extend it. He also said that now that the league is doing so well with money, he's worried about if there might be a downturn at some point. Coole did knock that net off and pretend to be injured. However, the penalty was for a cross check. Quote
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 Ballard from Tallackson....beautiful shot. 4-2 SCCC got luck that Hendricks didn't get more for that high-stick. I thought it should have been 4:00, possibly 5:00. Quote
MinnesotaNorthStar Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 4-2 Gophers...Final Barely hang onto home ice. They see St. Clown again next week. We see Tech again (probably)...and I think Denver might see CC again. Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 Wisco scores, but it is waved off. IN after whistle. Quote
Smoggy Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 This game really had an edge to it in the first period. Lots of roughing penalties. Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 If they didn't call the penalties now though, the third period would be a bloodbath!! Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 Lessard scores his 22nd. Schwabe and Williams on the assist. Schwabe's 27th assist. 2-0 Dogs!! Quote
UMDDogz Posted March 7, 2004 Author Posted March 7, 2004 End of 2, 2-0 UMD!! Wisco on 5th PP to start 3rd. Quote
