I think Wisco will prove a bit tougher opponent than the Japanese Olympic Team!! Then again.....
MoneyLine
You have to start that winning streak sometime. I think this is the week to do it. I think the red is probably better than the Red.
Supertrex
That was my freshman year at UND...I went to nearly every home game...The hockey was fantastic...I've gone to nearly every home game this season - I sit three rows behind the sioux bench - and I have much more appreciation for the level of play now than I did back then. I guess I didn't realize how really good those teams were back then. It was more of a party thing back then - something I did plenty of that first year... squirtcoach
Yeah, I was a freshman, too. Made the long march from West Hall to the Winter Sports Arena. You get spoiled watching teams like that.

UMDDogz
Sure, although I don't think they usually qualify for the Olympic games.
farce poobah
Japan has an Olympic HOckey Team? In 1980, we started a petition for North Dakota to secede from the union, start an Olympic Committee, and get the Fighting Sioux into the Olympics. We thought it had a chance, especially since North Dakota was the world's 3rd largest nuclear power at the time. We figured the Sioux had a great chance at silver or bronze, but nobody dreamt of beating the Soviets.
farce poobah
That 1980 Sioux team won their last 18 home games. The similarities to the 2004 Sioux are that the team was very young, had brought in some terrific (great) freshmen, and the team's leadership character (Eades, Smail, Taylor, Chorney, Walker) was very hard-working team-first.
