Let see if I got this right for next year. POINT GUARDS(1) - Anderson, Webb SHOOTING GUARDS(2) - Schuler,Haugen, Gentry, Benton SMALL FORWARDS(3) Goodman, Huff BIG FORWARDS(4) Allard Mitchell

POST (5) Wilmer, Brekke,Archer This is the 13 scholarship players on the roster. Basically we have 8 guards and Allard can also shoot the three. A major bottleneck at the off guard position(shooting guards). Lots of talent in the guard positions but alot of guards will not be happy with playing time. Maybe you move one of the shooting guards to small forward. Which post player can step up and provide the necessary help for all these guards? Agree coaches have alot of tough decisions. Go Sioux

Allard shot under 22% from beyond the arc last season.

Mitchell is the only even remotely consistent 3-point shooter on this team. It pains me to see them all chuck up so many three's. Hopefully somebody else finds their stroke.

So that means Stockdale and Mathison are non-scholarship. Mitchell is also listed as a guard.

In order for the Sioux to be somewhat competitive their first year in the Sky, at least three new players are needed in the middle - preferably next year to gain experience.

Is there a mid major that isn't looking for qulity help in the middle?

Of course - but guards that can shoot and create plays are also always in demand.

Look at SDSU. They have struggled almost throughout their transition. Now, with 8 guards and 4 forwards (and no true center), they are moving up the ranks of the mid-majors. (have beaten Iowa and Nevada - their lone loss was NDSU.)

Two of the forwards are freshman from the same school in Iowa- and both are key members of the team.

Their guards are also deadly from 3-pt range.

SDSU roster

Getting one forward that has offensive potential open up the play for UND's guards.

There's just fewer quality 4s and 5s around.

Goodman and Schuler were 5 of 9 from three in the loss to Monmouth. Maybe this will get the two of them going after a slow start. Shooters will always be up and down regardless of who you are thats why you need inside support and rebounding on off nights. This team has little choice but to chuck up threes with no inside scoring. They will be fine.

SDSU has mid-major quality 1,2, and 3.

I'm talking about getting a higher quality 3 with a little bit of height - not a 4 or 5.

I don't think that's asking too much out of the staff to land that type of recruit either.
