GeauxSioux
For those interested in today's meeting, here is a link to the agenda and accompanying material. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to read 75 pages today.
The Sicatoka
You don't. I do. From p 47 of 75, indexed as "February 2008" (Note: At this point the Chapmans are living in a temporary residence in Fargo's Osgood subdivision during construction.) Chapman had the Foundation buy them a flat screen for the temporary residence? Sure, it was bought to be relocated to the permanent residence, but just the same, Joe's making $424k and his wife is making another $50k on top of that and they can't buy their own television set? They have a daughter who's college age. Why not buy your own (interim) set and give it to her for college when you move to the permanent house. NDSU probably paid for her own flat screen. Once had a boss who made over 1 million a year, made a big production about managing expenses particularly travel expense accounts. He always stayed at the same mid-priced hotels as the minions although he didn't have to double up like the rest of us. He usually also traveled with his girlfriend (wife worked for company also) and she stayed at ultra luxury hotel. He was arrogant enough to have the company pay for girlfriend expenses, although he could certainly afford to if he was interested in discretion. Everybody looked other way until new CFO showed up and refused to pay for her expenses. Big shatstorm. The point being it wasn't the money.....he did it for the emotional kick of not having to play by anybody elses rules.
The Sicatoka
"The flood" was the first given rationale for the NDSU cost overruns. What's happened to that? Can't find it anywhere anymore ...
