It is inconceivable to me that any would consider "Fighting Hawks" to be an improvement upon continuing to go without a nickname - at least that was unique.
Show of hands: Would like to call out those of you who at one time were trumpeting the idea that we must choose a new nickname, yet are now groaning about the results.

Welcome to UND, Fighting Hawks (I guess )
The question now is how do we differentiate ourselves from the other thirty plus Hawks teams the Fighting Hawks will be playing against.
By ignoring this whole debacle and continuing to sport my "UND" gear and calling the teams "North Dakota."

A Kick A$$ logo could make this palatable.
Why start getting things right at this point?
-
First you need a "committee to choose the committee," remember. But wait, how do we choose that one?

Doesn't appear to have any obvious injury (i.e. Brace, cast, etc) as she is sitting on the bench.
She had something different on her right foot, like an air boot or the like.

I thought you were a Nodak then Roughrider guy?
I was Fighting Sioux Forever then North Dakota then Nokota then Nodaks then Hawks...Next round I'm all in for Roughriders.
-
he was considering putting it back
You bought that?

The fact that one of these two will actually have a 50%+ is a joke. The only reason to have more than one round of voting is to deceive. To create the illusion of support where very little actually exists.

Exhibition games do not count for official records.... Pete Maravich for one scored 50 his first game
OK, that's the first I have heard that today's game was an exhibition. That would make them wrong about it being a debut in the first place.
-
UND record.
Yes he said that too.
-
Btw, another impressive debut underway out in Iowa City as Frieje has 11 points in the first quarter including 3 threes.
-
Radio gamecaller today said that Seales broke the Division 1 record for scoring in a debut game. Can that be right?

Regardless of the outcome this process has been a complete Sh*t Show
This sentiment seems to be something we can all agree with, in fact I have yet to see a single disagreement with this type of post. I for one agree as strongly as anyone. But there seems to be a disconnect. Sure, people realize (to varying degrees) the truth that this process is a hoax. But then they are somehow able to shelf that truth and carry on actively participating in said hoax. In such cases, condemning the process condemns the self.

Its just felt odd Johnson kept saying "Stay Tuned."
That just means, "I don't know yet because we are making this up on the fly."

Feel free to negative vote anything you want.
-1. Anything else I can get you?

...plus no one has ever said that roughriders will have anything to do with teddy....
Smart move taking down your Teddy avatar before posting this statement.

Wish I could write in Fighting Norsemen or Roughnecks.
Not allowing write-ins is a major flaw in any election.

Haikus next!

The Rough Riders' ties to the state are tenuous at best. It's like having a choice of the "Gippers" because Reagan wore a Sioux jersey at some point in the past.
Very nice.
Roll Bonzo!

"Stay tuned," he says.

Theres nothing exciting about an old western guy on a horse.
Hawks may be unoriginal, but RR comes with its own cliche'.

A kitty nazi BS & golf balls .....wow
Vote Roughriders!

Its a matter of time until BV gets ahold of this and then goes EVERYONEs credibility.
My argument, from a different perspective is this -- when a student becomes an alum, they can choose a few different routes:1. move on and away, no longer associate with the university
2. choose to attend games, be a fan from near or far, and have season tickets
3. become a donor and season ticket holder
and various combinations of the three.
I feel that those who have already demonstrated their commitment should get more say than a student, because we cannot tell how many students will end up being associated with the school in the future. Their level of commitment, by nature, is unknown.
Didn't we already settle this with the removal of the 3/5 Compromise?

TR moved to ND to ranch in 1883. UND founded in 1883.
TR moved to Africa to hunt in 1909. Congo Clown College founded in 1909. And yes, their nickname is Roughriders.
So I Guess Fighting Hawks It Is
in UND Nickname

At what point in this process did you come to this realization?
