Likely pot????  A totally harmless and acceptable drug according to 3/4s of the posters on this site.

    Stupid post.

regardless of anyone's feelings on pot you are

    A) defending an athlete breaking the law, period.

    B) well aware of Bubba's standards.

  2. About the spring game -- I agree the Alerus would probably be a more convenient and alluring prospect, but maybe they are trying to create some different traditions? I'm not sure, just excited to talk UND football.

  3. Yikes.

I think it is very important that we market ourselves to the region. I don't think d*ck-measuring with other schools in the region, glorifying them (effectively), needs to be the goal. We don't have to have conversations about all the other schools, much less one in specific. Internally (at UND), it should probably be a conversation topic. We should be the best marketed school in the Midwest, though -- that should be the goal of UND's marketing people. By consistently whining about how we 'aren't as good' as another school, we look pathetic.

I asked Hajdu not too long ago about why we don't have a football equivalent of TTD, and he said it was ironic because the marketing people had literally discussed the proposition the day before. They are trying.

As with anything else, feedback is good. We should not discourage feedback, because that IS our job as fans.

Lastly, football is given many privileges and liberties with the HPC - to say that it is not an administration-wide goal to promote football is absurd. To say that it is not an administration-wide goal for the teams to promote one-another is even more absurd. Check UND hockey players tailgating at early home games for the football team, UND football players carrying the student section for the Weber basketball game, see womens BB team and the track team in the front rows at football games. Check various coaches' twitter pages on other teams gamedays -- nothing but support.

It feels like a lot of ledge-talk here. Step away from your respective ledges, people. Its going to be okay.

Is it bad that that fact makes me feel better about Saturday's performance?

Call me soft but it was a breath of fresh air to hear that they weren't feeling good. Eager to get tonight started and put last weeks mess behind us.

....and their win tonight trimmed our lead over BC in the pairwise a bit.

Maybe I'm dense -- how does that work? If we lost to Denver, and they keep winning, doesn't that make it a 'better' loss, or 'better' losses (improving our SOS)? Can we get Mark Wilson from Tennessee Tech to shed some light on this?

Joking aside, how does the PWR work in this instance?

I didn't think I said UND football was in the toilet now or wil be in the future. All I was saying is the when UND fans are saying they won't be caught off guard and affected by the Fargodome atmosphere the next time they play the is not true. None of the players in 2019 will have played there before and you can't prepare them without actually having been there before. And 2019 is the next time the are scheduled to play. Anytime before that is very speculative, even if both make the playoffs. I will take that bet if anyone wants it. Not that UND doesn't make the playoffs, because I think they will, but that they won't meet in the playoffs before 2019?

To say they won't meet in the playoffs before 2019 is to say that they won't both make second round in the same year (basically). Which we, at UND, don't see happening.

Interesting article from USCHO. I think they have the wrong guy in charge of the B1G.

    http://www.uscho.com/2016/02/10/big-tens-traviolia-weighs-in-on-fan-frustrations-attendance-leagues-future-plans/

Traviola doesn't belong in college hockey. It seems a lot like college hockey is a bunch of "small businesses" and the B1G is showing up on be scene like a corporate giant trying to play ball but trampling all over the thing.

The next time they play them there will be nobody on the UND roster that will have played in that atmosphere before. They won't be anymore prepared than this year. The staff has played in the Fargodome before but they couldn't seem to get the players prepared for it this year, so why will 2019 be any different? They will think it will be no different than playing in the Alerus, Walkup Skydome or Idaho's dome.

This comment reflects just how ignorant and delusional the NDSU fan base has become. The idea that UND will remain in the toilet with regards to football is the very definition of ignorance. But keep telling yourself that if you wish.

The delusion is this -- that NDSU will be where it is now, in 2019. Also, the teams will meet before then in the playoffs, unless UND is held out with 8 wins or more for the next four years, or they change regionalization.

Yes, the seed doesn't matter much because you are probably going to get CC or Western either way and some line change benefits if the two end up playing at Target Center.  However, I don't think anybody on UND wants to have the Penrose Cup reside anywhere but the Ralph, especially not with a school that was so outspoken against the former nickname.

Hey good call. Something to hate the clowns for -- the nickname!

Lets not forget that these are kids, and while they represent their schools and should always be professional, they are subject to those types of moments, just like the rest of us.

I thought he came from an understandable perspective: the offense had been killing it all year, and the defense had been porous at best. To be damn-near an all-American at a key position and not be able to affect change in the outcome of games is probably frustrating.
