I also got a taste of the reason that I have watched less football over the last five years. The arrogance and attitude of the players on the field. Not really the UND players, but the Nicholls State players. It carries over tho the fans in the stands. That really turns me off from watching football.
You touched on one of Bubba’s clear strengths - character of team.
I think we can chalk up half of Ketts fumble and the dropped passes to coaching.
Zero percent of the “find a way” or “refuse to lose” mentality. Boltmann goes out and we go away from the fun-having spread-the-ball offense, 4 carries for 19 yards from Skokna - but 47 pass attempts in what really was a 1 score game for much of the duration? 47 pass attempts, over 50-60% of passes within 5 yards of line of scrimmage?
Ish.
Bubba has elevated the program - yes. And he’s a good guy, but even when our team is deeper, faster, stronger, smarter - we will still be left with the lack of killer instinct.

Clive isn't the be all, end all. Get over it. Was Clive supposed to block on the punt team vs SB? Was Clive supposed to play deep thirds in cover 3 versus Bowling Green? The last time I checked football is the ultimate team game. You're a bit too obsessive with individual parts. Then again, your lack of constructive criticism extends back to the Mussman days so I'm not too surprised. Next man up.
The team is on a 7-game winning streak and doing well. I'm beyond happy for that. As Bubba says, though, there is always room for improvement. The team absolutely cannot be satisfied with the status quo.
Little harsh for a saturday morning. Go back to bed and relax.

I looked up the current records of all the conference opponents of the top 4 teams in the conference
Weber's conference opponents are currently 13-17
North Dakota's conference opponents are currently 12-16
Montana's conference opponents are currently 12-16
Eastern Washington's opponents are currently 10-18
Looks pretty even to me
For giggles lets take out the top remaining team on each of their schedules
Take North Dakota off of Weber's Schedule and Weber drops to 9-17
Take Weber State off of North Dakota's and North Dakota falls to 9-16
Take Eastern Wash off of Montana's and UM falls to 9-16
Take UM off of Eastern's and EWU falls to 8-17
Still very even. I guess the case I am trying to make is who can say who is the class of the Sky when everyone doesn't play everyone? Teams still have to win the games that are on their schedules. If Eastern and UM fans don't like that...tough.
This is how to properly watch a board and occasionally contribute.

Should be stated (though late), that Schmaltz got his first big league Gino.
What does Utica or the Ontario Reign mean for Stech and LaDue? are they AHL affiliates?

When you look at statistics, UND doesn't seem like an exceptional team. Maybe we're not.
You don't want to lead the nation in any one thing - except maybe W's, 'most playoff games played' perhaps. Do you see NDSU at the top of any category?
no.
Balance - that and defense and ball control and time of possession.

Not sure where this belongs but:
UND defending national hockey title
HE doing poorly
Gophs bad
UND streaking football
MVFC doing (relatively) poorly
FU fresh off a loss
Vikings legitimately good
best six months in sports this century ?

Crazy. We win a few games and make a couple presentation changes and all of a sudden it's rainbows and sunshine. Love it! Fly on, Flagship!

He also has UND ahead of Stony Brook. Who cares? Doesn't matter yet. We just need to win the game we are playing and the polls will take care of themselves.
I definitely think it matters. We didn't get in last year because we dropped a couple of bad games and then no one in our conference went to bat for us. AJ speaks to the big sky audience in his articles every day - he's never said a good thing about us yet. He helps control the public opinion.

He did, and had a pretty good season.
played for Frisk Aasker last season. I nearly purchased a Gaarder jersey from them - still might.

Streveler really got dinged a couple minutes ago.

I know we're stroking egos and giving role players kudos right now - but really, we've got a lot of game changers. Reyes, Arnell, Studs (zero interceptions), Oliveira, Toivonen, Wanzek, Deion, etc.
This is a good team.

I know we used to have too many qbs and it was a problem - but look at the last few years - 0 stable.
We might not know exactly what we have - but we do have heidelbaugh working on year number 2 waiting in the wings, Bolinkse on year 1 and possibly the most talented on his way in next year in Boltmann. Provided we can develop qbs (TBD), we're in a pretty good spot (also provided we keep bringing in the qb recruits).
-
I get the feeling if we lose this game we will need to win out to make the playoffs (see STATS poll for sense of respect given to conferences). Even if we lose this game - might not be able to afford two more losses this season.

I think 31-24 - 55 total points is the lowest total I would expect. We are a little more porous on D than last year and they are a little better on O. We might be able to balance their improved passing ability w/our improved secondary.
I think they will get their points, so we will have to get ours.

Last year MSU was a big time opponent and two years ago we were extremely impressed that we could play with them. Here's the thing - we just beat them. Again. And we're bitching about it.
Almost everyone called a close game - and that's what we got. No I wasn't happy and yes those penalties sucked but let's stop and take in the view for a moment.
and then move on to Cal Poly. #BeatTheStangs

Do 3rd string goalies not travel? No Feeney on the line chart
