  1. You remember that place? They did not serve food though.
  2. If anyone has a place to get mad at Mafia for his burns it would be me. The opposite is true though. When he burns me it makes me laugh my arse off because it is funny as hell. gfNDfan I think owes Mafia an apology.
  3. Mafia is the best Henny Youngman on this board. Even when the joke is thrown at you it makes you laugh.
  4. Horne and Broadway in Mesa. It is like homestyle mexican. You never see a lot of this stuff in other mexican restaurants. Chicken in a spicy tomato cream sauce. Pork riblets in a sauce. Creamed spicy chicken with corn. It is nuts. I see different things all the time. I really think they are all Maria's home recipes. Goat in a red sauce nummy. They over lap 2 two 12" tortillas to make a burrito. I found it by accident. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.407845,-111.813574,3a,75y,177.1h,90t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1shnnhOP3IIqTzjxvlUafBJA!2e0
  5. Fouls are for other sports. Embellishment would be a better call.
  6. Can go with you on that. That is about as mexican as I am with my blond hair and blue eyes. If you like mexican food a know a little bakery/market that makes mexican food that would blow your socks off. Different stuff everyday. If you like tamales theirs would make you think you died and gone to heaven at $1.25 a piece and they are big. Freshly made everyday. $6.99 gets you a large serving of a meat, rice, beans, and 8 fresh tortillas. I get two meals out of it. You have to hope Maria is working though in back. She is the only back there that speaks english. I end up getting what Maria tells me I would like half the time. She has never been wrong yet.
  7. That place was disgusting. Next step. What was the worst restaurant in Grand Forks?
  8. Thank you. You have me thinking about that Ugly's though. It is ringing a bell for some reason.
  9. It was on 42nd st first. Mr. Steak was still in the 32nd ave. location. Mr. Steak closed and it moved there and 42nd st eatery opened. Best i can remember. The guy that own Players across from the Red Ray and the Village Inns owned it. Can't think of his name though.
  10. That's it. I knew it had Barn in it.
  11. I don't remember Ugly's. I'm thinking it was empty for a long time before Topper's.
  12. Taco Time came in on two trucks and left on two trucks. What about Dickey's BBQ before Hardys?
  13. 42nd st. Fuddruckers? It was built as a burger place. Can't think of the name but there was one also in 5000 block of France Ave. in Edina. Maroon and gold colors. Something Barn I think.
  14. BINGO! The Big Leo I always thought was better than a Big Mac. If you remember King Leos do you remember what was where Simonson's is? These really are not that easy of questions. These places all have been gone for a real long time. If you are not over 45 they will be tough.
  15. Winner! Taco John's was there also. It was built as an Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. But what was there before the restaurants? And what was in the building between Taco John's and Denny's Bar? More trivia time. What was where Taco Bell on 13th is now? What was where Burger King is now? What was where Gramma's is now? There were two different things there. What was where Wendy's is?
  16. Giovannis was there but that was after the flood. The building was built around 1976. But not the correct answer.
  17. You know the Pita Pit on Washington lasted longer in that building than anything else ever did. Trivia time. What was original restaurant that the building was built for? More trivia. What was where Taco John's and the Pita Pit sits and what was on the north side of Taco John's?
  18. I was not writing a book. All you did was expand on what I said. Nothing new.
  19. The eastern front was already over by this time. The Russians were storming towards Berlin. After Stalingrad Germany already had lost in the east. Simply Russia defeated Germany more than the US and Great Britain did, They held them in check which allowed the west to get its act together. If not for the tenacity of the Russians Germany would have won.
