    In any sport, or profession, at any level, awards can go to people's heads.  Sometimes a MR Football has a had time becoming just one of the guys and waiting his turn in line to play.  Sometimes it is the player, or employee, you just take a chance on that outshines everyone. Just life!

    A Mr. Football would be a great addition but then many students are!

    When I see his name.....I can just hear how the announcer use to say his name after he tackled somebody....tackled by......Travis.... O'Neel, I can quite explain it but it was almost in a monster truck announcers type voice the way he'd say his name, or at least that's the way it is in my mind when I recall it.   I loved it.  I didn't know him but sounds like he was as good of a guy as he was a football player, very sad.....and makes you think about life.

    Yes I too remember the way they said his name!  A very sad day indeed...I remember when they all lived in that house and his mom got them all TP!  They were so happy!  His brother got married the day of the national championship..

    Man, as a nurse I have NEVER heard this one.  After laughing for 5 minutes, I will commit this to memory!

    Well, I started as a candistriper before man landed on the moon, spring of 1969. I have been in health care since and

    38 years as a registered nurse. Every grad of UND's medical school I have worked with was an EXCELLENY hands-on

    diagnostic doctor, all exemplary, totally (and proud of their alma mater). I can not count the number of doctors

    who I have come in contact with. The BEST, BEST, Family Practice Physician I have ever worked with was from UND Medical School. Did he have the Harvard AST scores? NA when he went to school. Did he have the top MCAT score? NA when he went to school. That data does not show common sense and commitment, only grades. It takes much more than a GPA to

    practice medicine.

    So is this thread recruiting football players, medical school applicants, or both?

    What memories

    From my limited perspective, it seemed we could do no wrong in the play-offs. I distinctly remember being way ahead of our opponent, hearing "Sweet Home Alabama" playing at the Alerus, and reading a BOOK!

    During the championship game, from my limited perspective, we did not have the fire or drive or something for 3 quarters. So, we are down with 2 minutes and I am wondering what I will say to my child when I rush out on the field after

    losing a national championship. I can not say you played your heart out because he will know that I know that is not

    true. So, I just said, "Lord you will need to guide me on this one " (of course I prayed to win too).

    Wasn't UND just named one of those worst medical schools in the nation? I thought that place was Harvard.....

    Worst schools in the nation?  I suppose that includes nursing too?

    I have Directv and cbssports is great but only a handful of games is not ideal. I watched a bunch of games on the web stream this year and the picture was better but the game play was very glitchy at times and what frustrates me is that the technology is definitely there to allow for near tv quality. Our web stream provider (Neulion) is 2nd tier at best.

    I used the video too and got so many pop ups it took my husband a full morning to get rid of them. But I am glad to see anything

    Like I said, when my child had to make a decision I told him to forget football and the $$$$ on the table. He should go where he would get the best education for what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.... "Then it's UND Mom!"

    Sounds like the recruits have the maturity to stick together for 4 or 5 years and be re models. Success will follow!!!!
