  1. Lets go Sioux - Let it go fans and out cheer ASU.
  2. Nice looking shoe. Is it for the tennis team.
  3. Just saying: TV game can be watched near the bench by fans on their iPhone (Android). I heard a linesman said no goal. A challenge was made. Does anyone know how the challenge decision was made? Strange things happen.
  4. Excited for Drake Caggiula and tonight's game. Two games and two points, will tonight bring his first goal?
  5. The protesters are not exclusively Sioux tribal members but many are from all the tribes that have been affected over the years. You mention what I believe was a language tie to the Sioux called the Siouan Language which is spoken by the Mandan, Hidatsa, not sure of the Arikara, and a number of other tribes. I first was introduced to this by a professor at the University of North Dakota named Art Raymond who I believe at the time was writing a dictionary of the language. I do not know the exact make-up and number of the protesters as to which tribes they belong to, however the water involved potentially affects a large amount of the United States. The question I have for my home state is… how has the oil cleanup of the Williston Basin progressed and are we relying on the similar type of government rules and government oversight to move the oil without additional damage to North Dakota and to the water that flows from North Dakota to other parts of the country?
  6. To understand these protests, one area to focus on is understanding the history of what has been happening over water rights and movement of the tribes. Under Lake Sakakawea you will find lost tribal land and lost tribal communities. You will also find broken promises from the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program. It is also important to understand the decisions that were made to the benefit of farmers who now are being inconvenienced. There is still angry about how inconvenient it was for the tribes to be moved. Those moves led to a breakdown in their income, their community support structure, and other things that helped destroy their family life. I would encourage anyone who is truly wanting to have a better understanding of this protest to read or at least review the book, “Coyote Warrior: One Man, Three Tribes, and the Trial That Forged a Nation” by Paul Van Develder.
  7. Oh Ray Richards. Got my first and only hole-in-one on the putting course at the Ray Richards. Also played on the course (1972), when the foliage and the trees were so young and small, that someone would yell "fore" and everyone on the Ray Richard course would duck.
  8. Wentz or Grump. Allow me to offer a bigger story of sports and hero. Woodrow Wilson Keeble an American Sioux who gave up a pro contract to play baseball with Chicago and went on to fight both in World War II and Korea. Woodrow Wilson Keeble earned 2 Silver Stars, 2 Bronze Stars with Valor, 4 Purple Hearts, and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Saved many lives and yes an outstanding athlete in more than one sport. Also an honorable member of the North Dakota Roughriders. There is also a few others in the Roughriders who were outstanding athletes. When you think of hero and sports, think of one who gave up sports for his country.
  9. Oops I did not count the game he came in for. Things happen when you want to congratulate this young man for his effort.
  10. Congratulations to Matt Hrynkiw. He has now tied the same number of hockey games another UND Sioux played in his entire time at UND. He has one game. But great things can come of this. That other player went on to play 7 years in the NHL and has his name on the 1991-1992 Stanley Cup.
  11. Rudy - Rudy - Rudy
  12. Why not just give a full ride scholarship to a student who creates the best logo for the new nickname. Let students and sports teams vote on the logo.
  13. I like the Fighting ... (ok Hawks). Roughriders bother me, do we really want opposing teams to throw empty roughrider condom boxes on the ice. Maybe it will never happen but it has a potential to be a rotten situation.
  14. Previous quote Yes, they are so at this point, I see no purpose for UND Insider unless your card had been charged for this season, in which UND and Neulion have already upgraded it to the NCHC.tv package. So really you have to buy both.
  15. How do we watch women's hockey on the Big Sky pass.
  16. New NCHC Television Offer I like the new offer to watch all NCHC games on technology this year. There are questions about the UND subscription and NCHC subscription overlap. I provide this information and hope it allows us to find the right answers before we commit to two subscriptions. I did call and talk with Michael Weisman, Director of Communications of the NCHC, he was polite and did provide some useful information, but he did not have all the answers. It appears NeuLion and UND have to respond to this issue of watching other UND sports. I sent the following to find clarification. To: undsports@neulionnetwork.com I currently have a Siouxxtra All-Access Pass until 2024 which renews automatically yearly (see below). Now I have been told from the NCHC that Men's hockey will no longer be included in this. That to watch UND Hockey after this years pass expires, I will need to have a NCHC NeuLion Pass for a charge of 81.95 if purchased before September 25th. Problem: I would like the NCHC pass so I can watch all the NCHC games during the year. My concern is that I will no longer be able to use the pass to watch women's soccer, women's volleyball, women's and men's basketball, and Tennis. If I want to watch those sports, it appears I also need to have the Siouxtra pass. Is this correct? Because the hockey is no longer on Siouxtra pass, the value of the pass has been diminished and I am paying more for the hockey and more for the rest of the Sioux sports. How can I watch the UND sports (not including football) plus men's hockey without two subscriptions, with one of the subscriptions having been priced $47.96 until 2024 (which included men's hockey)? UND Insider FREE Audio-Only Pass Purchase Date: 10/27/2007 Expiration Date: 10/27/2014 Special Offer: SIOUXtra All-Access Pass -- SAVE 20% Purchase Date: 10/17/2008 Expiration Date: 10/14/2024 UND Insider FREE Audio-Only Pass Purchase Date: 10/23/2010 Expiration Date: 10/23/2014 Let’s spend some time and discuss this on the blog.
  17. I had the chance to watch live Alan Hangsleban. I agree he was outstanding. Almost had his career destroyed with the accident on the farm.
  18. Sad situation. Over-reaction by military force on students. A little better response by police could diffuse situation. But students are being clearly rounded up like cattle. I believe on keeping order but this could have gotten ugly.
  19. I believe UND should never adopt a new nickname. Clearly with no nickname Sioux fans have continued to use the nickname at games and in referring to the University of North Dakota. No nickname: the fans will continue to unofficially use "The Fighting Sioux".
  20. Goldie is there right. What happens if he gets thrown on the ice.
  21. Sorry the statement added to previous post got posted incorrectly. My part of statement said So Austria has a way to stop it or was there something in Mr. Earl's prior environment that caused the flopping around. Any ideas - maybe poor coordination that might have improved as he aged or different rules or coaching or skate sharpening procedure or or or... Any other ideas lol

  23. Which pool is Robbie working at.
