Although he amassed a record of 36–27 in six seasons leading the program, North Dakota never qualified for the playoffs nor did they win a conference title under Behrns' direction. Following a dreadful 3–8 season in 1985 that culminated in a 49–0 loss to arch rival NDSU Bison, Behrns resigned as head coach of North Dakota. He burned a lot of red shirts his last year.

NDSU is not looking good so far this season. No Idea why. But no good.

Nero is much improved this year. Last year he was very timid. Part of that was Tyree handled the ball most of the time. This tear Nero is much more mature compared to Tyree. Tyree was fast, quick and some reckless. This is a key part. Especially since UND has a number of players shooting the 3 well. We are young but have many pieces of a very good team. Last year they didn't gel until late very late.
