  1. exposed? hardly, I actually did see a Sioux fan after the spanking and tell him they spanked the Gophers, so put that where the sun don't shine there buddy! As for leaving early, you can ask anyone I know, I have NEVER left a game early.

As for my little "speech", go ahead and put it up as your sig line again for all I care, you are obviously NOT one of the Sioux fans that I could/do respect. Telling a defeated opponent it was a good game has noting to do with if you played or not, it is showing respect for an opponent. If I EVER, and I mean EVER see a post by you that says "us" and "Sioux" and "hockey" and "win" in it, I'll throw that right back in your face. You sir, are a tool.

I am one for interaction with GOOD hockey fans regardless of the outcome. We moved our seats this year at the F5 and actually had some good new people to sit by. Knowledgable, respectfull fans, that weren't yelling about ref bias, or "fake" penaties, or any of that crap. I had a good time chatting with them and shared a "that was a great game" after it was all over, as well as props for the all F5 team. That game will go down in my mind as one of the best, most hard fought games between our two respective teams. Damn I wish I had DVR'd it. As for FlagGuy and all the others that pull that nazi crap, I personally hate that, it is stupid and dumb, and I tell the people who do that so.

NDH, Mafiaman, missed running into you guys this year, you guys are good eggs.

Forecheck did we ever make a bet?!?

cfm, one of these years we got to meet up and share a brew and talk BMW (got mine out Sunday)

Diggler, I leave the head butting (and nose breaking) to my best friends! that was crazy!

    W

Amen to that! Two of my favorite "b" words are brew and BMW. Might have the 540i 6-speed online by the time we meet.

  2. I sat in section 102 and civility ruled the evening. The Gopher fans around me have all gotten rather cordial. Then again, my buddies and I have been in that section surrounded by the same group of people for seven years now (since the tournament moved to the X).

I did notice in SEVERAL sections throughout Saturday night's game that skirmishes, finger-pointing, taunting, and even a few shoves being thrown. Behind the zamboni entrance, I counted at least four people who were ejected by security.

WPoS, had you been sitting next to me, I'd have told you that it wasn't a good game, but a great game.

Twas a GREAT game - that kind of behavior was actually going on in my living room. Had the pleasure of hosting with a couple of Gopher fan neighbors joining us.

  3. My phone would not stop ringing saturday night. The lame messages filled my mailbox. Yet like you said, I never made a single comment to anyone about how the Sioux would beat anyone this year. I was getting calls from people who don't even watch hockey. They just saw Wheeler on SC Top 10 and thought it might be fun to call and laugh. Then again some of those same people called and texted when UND was down 0-2 at MN. Shortly after that, my phone went silent. :silly:

No sympathy from me man.....I was the guy making calls to every Gopher fan I knew after the Holy Cross game....so with the tables turned you have to expect a little ribbing.

  4. After reading this, I have one thought. When you Sioux fans have nothing to cheer about, you attempt to belittle those who do. I hope it helps you folks sleep well at night. As a proud Gopher fan, I don;t need to knock others to love my team or feel good. Good luck against Michigan. I'd like one more shot at you guys.

Who is knocking others? ;) The game saturday was one of the best in recent memory. I have no heartache over the loss or outcome - it didn't end our season nor did it end yours. I can always borrow the line from your leader Lucia where he basically said the Final 5 was meaningless in the grand scheme of things. We'll hopefully see you in Denver for the game that will mean something.

  5. That's great, but I after Friday's game I can't see how anyone could pick the Sioux over the gophers. Don't get me wrong, the gophers aren't an automatic win over the Sioux but IMO certainly outplayed the Sioux and earned the win on Saturday. They've now put together a couple or a few good games in a row, where inconsistency was a problem in the recent past. Will that return? It could, but they don't strike me as a team that's lacking in confidence. We've already seen a time in this year when they played well enough where pretty much no one could beat them, and they seem to have that groove back.

The Sioux will give them a battle, but I can't pick 'em over the gophers right now.

I respectfully disagree - I think the game saturday was fairly even on all counts. Both teams had a chance to win it in regulation with the Sioux darn near at :02 left in the game on Kaip's bid. The Wheeler swipe as about as fluke a thing as Holy Cross winning last year. I think these teams might be fairly close matching up again but with 16,000 less Gopher fans I give the edge to the Sioux in a re-match.

  6. I agree. The Maine fans have all been classy that I talked to. Even after we got dumped by BC in the F4, the Maine fans were respectful to us and gave us congrats on a good year and good run.

Bud Light Man from Mankato gets my vote for the best visiting fan this year!! He even drank the Coors Light and took it like the true super hero he is!!!

I agree - Maine fans are basically Sioux Hockey east.

I joined their pep-rally last year in Milwaukee at the bar their alumni gathered in before their game with the Badgers. Walked in off the street in my Sioux shirt and had about 10 immediately come over to talk about our program/arena etc.

  7. The first 10 Sioux Final 5 fans who would like to have, free of charge, a pair of those swell flashing green glasses, PM me today with your Sioux-St. Cloud game seat numbers and I will bring them to you Friday afternoon. According to the DOT line's operator's manual, flashing green lights mean "Go Sioux."

You mean the ones that Terry (w/K-Dog) made famous during this past weekend's series?

  8. Have gone to that the last couple of years. Kind of boring. Where and what is Patrick McGoverns?

Mr. Siouxmama and I will be 2 of the 8 in section 119 with Sioux-cia.

PCM, we can arrange for all of us to have a beer for you.

    New concept...beer pipeline! :)

McGoverns is an Irish type pub...lots of Sioux faithful there every year. Given the time of year it is a happening place that weekend.

  9. When I toured the Ralph they showed us the hot tub that fits the entire Sioux roster. People can say what they want about the Gophers getting perms a few years ago and dying their hair blonde last week. But nothing is gayer than 20 Sioux players hot tubbing it together.

    Did I mention - Touring a rival's hockey arena = infatuation :)

  10. When I toured the Ralph they showed us the hot tub that fits the entire Sioux roster. People can say what they want about the Gophers getting perms a few years ago and dying their hair blonde last week. But nothing is gayer than 20 Sioux players hot tubbing it together.

Yeah I'm sure this really happens Skippy.......Great detective work! :)

  11. And to think....not a single member of the Fighting Sioux could even grow facial hair the last time UND won a title. Ironic.

Hey welcome back skippy... :) ..what were your famous last words again?? I think PCM might have them imortalized :0

  12. It's hard to argue with bucky's logic here, but he's still an idiot most of the time.

I would agree with his logic (a rare thing). I don't see the Rodents losing a game in this series.

  13. no no no...some of the best pump up music they play is from Godsmack. I'm not sure on which songs they are, but there's two of them that they play, they used to do the one with the intro, the same one they use in the ARMY commercials on tv (blanking on the title). that song during the intro(oshie highlight film) used to give me goosebumps and make me wanna go out and crush a gopher like #7

It just doesn't get any better than Godsmack.....you must be thinking of Keep Away...that was the best highlight intro music to date. #2 IMO would be POD - Boom. The Navy commericals I believe are done to Godsmack's Alive track.
