I am here every game and give credit where credit is due. Jump on me for stating the obvious if you like but, despite the talent, this team is not capable of playing 60 minutes yet.

The coaches talk every week about all the positive steps. Funny, I seem to be watching the same product/result every weekend.

I heard of this about 1 hour ago. Sure enough had to head over here and watch the fireworks. 12 pages so far of immature juvenile bickering over what: A MEASLY DISORDERLY CONDUCT CHARGE. My god people get off your damn soapbox. TJ if you happen to read this let me give you a bit of advice from a Gopher fan: Take this criticism from these so called "fans" and shove it right back up there @$$.
Dude I have to agree with you. Seems like a bunch of jock sniffers wanting to weigh in with their opinion - probably 90% of the soapboxers haven't even come within 10 feet of an organized athletic team sport but yet feel righteous in offering a 3rd party opinion.

Any dreams this team has of a national championship should be burried. They need to start playing one weekend at a time.
UNH was missing their best player at the WJC's. UND has no excuse for dropping this game at home. Yet again. This has to be the first time since anyone can remember that the Sioux have not swept a series this late in the season. Seriously - when was the last time?

Woog is a great commentator. He loves college hockey. Played for the Gophers under John Mariucci and also coached so naturally he will wear maroon & gold goggles some of the time. However, I think he is very fair and honest in his opionion not only of the Gophers but also of the competition. There have been plenty of times where Woog has been very complimentary of the oppositions play. He tells it like it is and gives credit where credit is due. For that I compliment Wooger. I don't want to listen to a gopher lovefest like John Madden to Brett Favre.
Woog's great. Mazzoccco flat out sucks. I don't know how even got the damn job. He must have some nasty pictures of someone. Frank "the Rug" Mazzocco is half in the bag the entire game and just utters nonsense. Actually it is quite painful to listen to .

I'm hoping to see two things in the pre-game video at the Ralph this weekend......
1.) Replay of Porter's wrap-around goal to ice the 2007 West Regionals against the Gophers
2.) Oshie's hit against that CC player a few weeks ago after the sprint up-ice
Both of those clips in the pre-game video during into's will make my weekend

The telling stats isn't the penalty minutes, we all know the Sioux are a bunch of hacks well deserving of their three extra minors per game.
Sadly the telling stats are the goal differentials and it is pretty depressing where I sit.
Can't see both nights being close unfortunately.
Hoping to see a few soft ones let in by Jeff "Wrap Around!" Frazee.....

Fine, understand I am a DIE hard Gopher fan, but I am also a realist. I know the Gophs pulled UND into two OT's. I also know UND owned the last OT. The Gopher D is hurting (obvious now with it coming out Goli has to have surgury bein gpart of the D slump). Personally I think we'd prolly not pulled as many penalties as UND did, we just don't have the size that drew a few of those calls. I'm not saying it would have been a blow out, but they would have picked the Gopher D apart and we'd have been down by 2 going into the third. A blow out in my mind is 3-4 goal spread minimum. The biggest question you have to ask yourself is this: WHICH Gopher team would have shown up? The one that had to mount a huge return to beat the Air Force, or the one that played Sat night at the X?

I think my take on all of this is that 99% of the Sioux fans out there would welcome drinking beer with WPos given his logical and realism driven comments.

Who is going on the Sioux Charter but has not bought the trip yet.
I am coming to grand forks on Wednesday 4th April and have paid for my travels from sydney Australia and need a seat on the charter from GFK and was wondering if i could book the charter with anyone to lower the price a little as i already have spent lots getting to Grand Forks.

You guys are going to love this one...KARE 11 here in the cities just ran a short clip on the game as one of their lead stories with Eric Perkins.....get this....stay tuned because KARE 11 is going to show a "Gopher goal that was disallowed" later in the broadcast. I suppose this will be the BIG controversy at the water cooler tomorrow..

What a game and what a finish! The Sioux worked much harder in OT and deserved to win this game. I will have to say though after reading 25 plus pages of the game thread that all of you must have been sitting next to me at the Final Five tourney. I have never in my life seen and read so much whining and complaining. A lot of you, (and you know who you are) are a disgrace to the great game of hockey. It's one thing to be a fanatic about your team but it's another to constantly bit&&& and moan about every call and every penalty. I bet 40-50% of the thread contained this crap. Anyway, good luck in the FF.
